Country Boy: </font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"> The install looks kind of clean, but you’re back to square 1 with obstructing the intake path. You would like to keep the path as clear as possible, hence ported ends and not add to the mess. Would you put a fat divider in the middle of your catback or headers? </font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">What? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Maybe you’re confusing the NX MAF system, with your TNT Power Ring. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />
Uhhh, How does it work? Hack your air lid. Jam on a aluminum tube; stick two nozzles right in the middle of the intake. <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" /> <That's obstruction.

Flow straightenrs are important for accurate and consistent sensor readings. The "Fat divider" as you call it. Smoothes air to create a more consistent and evenly distributed mixture. It is one of the reasons the MAF system can make 400HP!!! <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

The NX MAF system smashes the power ring in performance. <img border="0" alt="[fight]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_punch.gif" />

The only thing better than the MAF system, Is a is a direct port system.

LOL, Ive been waiting for your reply <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">What part of the system obstructs the intake?</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">See:
http://www.geocities.com/badhabitbird/maf.JPG

and now the TNT kit: I cant find a pic of the ring, but you know what it looks like...

How can 2 little nozzel tips be obstructive? verses a big "flow straightner" If its so good, why do people ditch the stock housings? Why not just port around them? I do like how it sprays down the throat of the intake though.

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Uhhh, How does it work? Hack your air lid. Jam on a aluminum tube; stick two nozzles right in the middle of the intake. <That's obstruction.</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I didnt have to cut my lid, the ring fit with no problems, and its just two tips of the nozzels and not a divider in the middle of the intake stream. The divider takes up more area than the 2 nozzel tips...

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Flow straightenrs are important for accurate and consistent sensor readings. It has ALOT of "flow straightners in it. Why do none of the aftermarket lids have them?

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The NX MAF system smashes the power ring in performance</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Hasnt happened yet <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Not that Ive seen .

I havent seen anyone use that dynatech catback yet and havent heard of good gains from it.. must not be that good...

Lets also talk price of that little plate system. What does that cost and does it come with the LS1 kit you buy, or is it an option?
