Default 200 shot, stock ls1 with nos nozzle?

My ? is can i run a 200 shot of n2o on a stock ls1 with the nos nozzle system if I retard the timing and have a good fuel pump is it possible or will it blow my engine and how long will my engine take this kind or abuse?

I think it will me a nice firework show. The highest I have seen is 170 dry (throwing codes) and 175 wet but it broke soon after. As far as rear end and DS bye bye! As far as engine hard call but i say no.

ur motor will take it a while, ur clutch and rear end wont. how ever i see u want to run a dual stage, i suggest nx wet 50 shot out the hole and for the bigger 100-125 id also buy the tnt power ring kit that way there is three nozzles it will work better that way. or u could do direct port with progressive controller. my .02

I really dont think it will last long. It may last a week or three months. But it will go at some point at that hp level.

As with anyhting with performance their are NO guarantees. NOS really depends on how much experience you have with it to know what you can and can't get away with. you definitly need to take out timing.. rule of thumb 2 deg for every 50hp.. i personally use more.. also Fuel is VERY important.. do NOT use 93 octane when running this set up.. i am running 175 and soon 200 because my car is running dead fat and no signs of detonation.. i ONLY run 100 octane when spraying it.. i have local station who supplies it.. at the very least half and half.. on the 200 though i will only run straight 100octane. keep in mind NOS is just like any other power adder you add more air to burn more fuel to make more "POP".. the guys on this list who love the "HIT" of their systems increases the chance of lifting a ring land or bearing wear due to the car initially going WAY lean which increase cyl press, crank press, and TQ especially when taking out timing.. that severly loads the crank and increases chances of hurting the motor... anything over 175 shot i stay away from anything other than direct port due to the mixtures not being even from cyl to cyl... NO intake manifold will distribute this evenly.. ESPECIALLY intakes not designed ot have fuel in them.. which this application adheres to. also plug gap and heat range is very important. i run R42LTS gapped at 35. this can be too tight fora LS1 and creat a slight burble at idle but this is my set up. also i like to run 11.5 to 12.0 AFR... still too fat but safe...good luck...

Your answer is NO! I speak from experience. I now have no motor But I also had some help from a not so knowlegable dyno shop.

It is one hell of a ride with a 200 wet shot. Traction is none. Kinda fun still being sideways at 90+ MPH. Been there, done that.

The motor will take it for a very short time, but it WILL go.

I will let you know within a week or so, I hope my kit comes in tomm. I will be spraying 200hp on a heads/cam car. I think with enough octane and a little timing retard it will be no problem.

most of the problems these guys are talking about are from single or dual nozzles...direct port or NOSzle will meak a HUGE difference.

I have run 150hp on a single NX nozzle with 116 octane and 28 degrees with no problems. I did blow a head gasket with 93 octane.

You are also talking about ALOT of cylinder pressure!! Its the RING LANDS that cant handle it. Its a known fact that the stock pistons suck and are very weak for ANY power adder Ask the FI guys about the stock pistons Like I said, it will take it, but now for long.

last thing... i ran over 80 bottles through my LT1 with NO pill on a dry kit for over 2 years..stock LT1 with timing retard on 93 octane street racing every weekend as well as lots of stop light to stop light.. the motor blew when my POS NOS bottle warmer didn't kick off and i sprayed it with over 2000 pounds of pressure...whoo hoo ran for about 3 seconds.. then 6 foot fire ball from drivers side shot out as i passed a Lexus at 130MPH... you WILL have clutch and rear issues eventually... depending on your driving style.. and if you put a sticky tire on it.. keeping a stock tire on it will minimize clutch and rear wear.. the Z06 has had 15 bottles and as many passes at the track..

again think about it before you do it.. the initial fun is not worth the pain when it blows.. unless you have lots o cash and it doesn't matter to you or your parents if that applys.
