Default how much is too much

I am building a 383 Lunati stroker with custom pistons for alot of n2o. I had the 6.125 rod bushed to a 6.000. The custom piston will know have a compression height of 1.248. The bore is 3.903 and 10.6:1 compression. I am having them move the rings down as low as they can get them. With the big ring land and a thick dome they said the pistons will be good for 400 hp of n2o. The rods are good for 1200 hp. The crank is good for over 2000 hp. I am having the deck welded to help support the sleeves around the half moons at the top and bottom of each sleeve. If I were to run 300 hp in 3 stages 100 hp in each 2 wet 1 dry with the right tuning and retards is this resonable or is the block too weak or the stock sleeves too weak. I am also having billet steel main caps from pro gram engineering installed. cometic head gaskets arp head bolts not studs and arp main studs. If antbody is running this kind of a setup or has any input to situation please post. I want to do this once and not have it come apart. Thanks Rich

Lunati won't bush thier rods that much so i am going back to the drawing board. anyone spraying 300 hp or so. It will probablly be 200 hp on 2 stages and the 100 hp in the 3rd stage will be only if I am losing.

i would run a 150 / 150 if i were you. we ran a 300 shot on our shop car, along with a heads cam setup, this was a stock 346 bottome end if i were you i would actually go 200/ 200 direct port. much easier to tune

I am running a 300hp shot via a TNT DP Fogger. I have a 383 Stroke with forged internals.

With a shot over 150hp, I would only deliver it through a fogger!!! Going with a two stage wet and/or dry kit, you will get an uneven distribution of nitrous to the cylinders and that is not good <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> It will cause stress even on a forged crank and rods.

Seems like a good thread to jump in on. I agree with the no shots over 125'ish unless it DP. Which brings me to this ?, I am planning on running a new fuel pump and DP 300shot progressively controlled starting about 75 shot at the line and up to the 300 on a stock engine. Several people have said it should be safe seeing that it will have all the fuel it will ask more and then some as well as being progressive controlled. Whatcha think? Am I crazy or what? TIA.

Charlie.

I would say that a 300hp shot on a stock bottum is not safe either through a fogger or not. Stock connecting rods can not handle 600+ rwtq. Sure, you might get a couple of runs in, but you will destroy the rods sooner rather than later.

ls1290, I figure something might let go, hopefully not though. I don't plan on running 300 very much at all, but figure i jet it for it and work with the controller to measure down and only jump up over 150'ish when money is in-heads up event nights. I will look out for this though and appreciate you piping in, thanks.
