Default Q on when to hit NOS with stock rear?

Hey guys,

Just wondering with the mods in my sig. and the Hooker longtubes with off road pipe, what is the best time to spray in the quarter with stock rear. I should dyno around 22 rear wheel more with the LT's and I will be running a TNT 125 wet shot. I also need to know how long a shot of NOS lasts when you hit it. Any info would be appreciated. I think I'll need a fuel pump also. Thanks guys

Right out of the hole with a 5000 rpm launch

Just get some slicks and a broom to swwep up the parts. J/K.
I would say as soon as you hit second gear. But it will really depend on the tires you use and track conditions.

I will be getting Nitto DR's for the launch 315 35's so I should be able to get some traction the best 60ft on 275 40's street tires was a 2.0 so hopefully I can make it into the 1's.

I'd say to spray as soon as you hook up. It might be a little difficult with an M6, but you'll get the hang of it. To answer your second question, the nitrous will spray until you turn the switch off, or you release the throttle. By the way, when you call it NOS, you kinda sound like a ricer that just sold his civic and bought a real car. NOS is a brand name. Try calling it nitrous, or N2O. Then you won't get flamed. Don't take any offense, it's just some friendly advice. Good luck.

If you have a stock clutch, that will probably be your weak link in the chain. The higher the rpm you engage the nitrous the less the hit becomes.

Well, if you spray on the stock clutch and actually get traction, or miss the shift you might have to change your username to 1BrokeAzzBlkWS6. Spraying on a M6 cars takes a little more than just hooking up a kit. Window switch maybe, good tires, clutch, knowledge (which after reading all through this section you might begin to have)etc.....

How long that shot will last is as Nick said til you turn it off or release throttle. But what you might want to know is how many passes can you make with a given shot size: I run 9 passes, 100shot, sprayed outta the hole, for the duration I am running the 1320'. On a 75 shot, I can run about 15+/- passes. so it is all dependent.

Um, first off, the rev limiter pulls out fuel, and still allows the N2O to spray, a very big no no, you need some kind of device to pull timing, so the stock computer actually hurts you, you need a window switch set for approx. 500rpm lower than what you shift at so you have some sort of safety barrier, and in case you miss the shift, you don't overrev the motor, isn't a hundred dollar part worth saving a motor, and your peace of mind, and secondly, i have never heard of larger injectors causing oil to thin out, so i don't know where that notion came from, unless you are spraying fuel into your oil pan, which might thin out the oil, but i've never tried it, and won't, i think your spun main was causede elsewhere, the larger injectors would only dump more fuel into the combustion chamber, making you run richer.

When you run rich the fuel not bieng combusted continues to stay in the cylinder in which continues to follow the piston and sticking to the cylinder wall all the way down and back up after a period of time it will continue to seep into the oil.(You should of learned this in your basic auto class in school you need oil on the cylinder walls and rings to accomplish compression) go back to your books and read a little more next time or go talk to a real auto technician (I'm still young in the automotive field going on 10 years

spray out the gate , as for the window switch for the T56 you don't need one. I don't run one on mine just jam the gears and make sure you don't miss the shift even if you do thats what the rev limiter is for.

200hp dry on a 135,000 mile motor for alot of runs only spun the main because of trying bigger injectors thinned the oil out too much.

Hey guys, 1BadAzz just wanted a little outside advise/help. If we all remember that and stop with the BS then maybe more people would be helped out here. Remember that this is the LS1Tech.com site not LS1.com Have a Juiced Day.

Widowmaker...do you have an LS1?

Anyways....going with bigger injectors will do nothing....if you do it right and get the computer calibrated for those injectors or use something like the mini AFC in the other thread to compensate. Most people know this here and are probably assuming everyone knows that. But hey...we all gotta start somewhere. And hitting the rev limit with a dry kit is not a good thing. As sated above the computer stops the flow of fuel completely.
