Which dry kit??
Hello guys, this is my first time posting on this site. I have been doing research on nitrous for the last month. I cant decide on a system. I was going to go with the the venom but i see to many flaws with the system on other peoples cars. So, I am thinking about the nx stage 1 or the nos kit. I know the nx is a wet kit but i can run it as a dry kit. I only want to spray a 100 shot. I am leaning towards the nx because it seems like a better system. And if i feel safe a can always go to the wet part of it. So, people please give me your input on either system. TIA

I went with a NOS dry kit.Its something that im not going to use often just mostly for looks but its a very good kit.I got mine at advanced auto parts store for 501.00 The part number for the ls1 kit is in the gm high tech mag.But your the one spending the money and its your call.Hope this helps.
Now that I've had my NOS kit for a while, I wish I had gotten the NX. You can't run as big of a shot on the NOS kit. Plus, the NX kit rates their jets at rwhp, where NOS rates theirs at the flywheel.

I thought about taking my jets out too, but NOS told me that it would be very dangerous. Are you guys taking any precautions by removing your jets? You are using the stock fuel system, right? I REALLY wanna do it, but I'm affraid.
The only danger is making too much power. If your motor can handle the power and the fuel system is up to it there is no "danger". Taking the jets out is no differnt then running a bigger solenoid with big jets.
If you try it be sure to atap or use a wideband, on my stock fuel system I have to run 100 octane and max out my MAFT to get rid of my KR.
Good luck!

I tried it last night, and man, it hit hard. Holy **** batman. The only problem is that the tires broke loose from a 50 punch which I don't like much. I also sprayed it at 105mph, and the torque sort of jerked me to the right a little. Me likie.

Listen dont go dry. get the wet and I promise you will be much faster. I did the dry for 3 years and converted to wet and Picked up 3 tenths "could have been more because I hit the NOS in second gear. Got kicked off the track for not having a CAGE!!

You picked up three tenths for a reason, not just because you switched from dry to wet. A dry kit has just as much potential as a wet kit if setup properly.

Well I am just saying that I had problems with making power with a Dry Kit. I will Dyno soon to show you guys the difference. Remember that I ran a dry system for more then 3 years and when I switched, I was like OMG hat was I thinking running a Dry Shot!!
wet kit VS dry kit, the debate will never end.
in the context of his original post he only wants to run "a 100 shot", so for coinvience, money, ease of installation and everything else, i say get the nos 5177, i'm more than sure it can make 100hp. plus anyone can do it themselves and save installation money.
let us know which one you get. later--dj

It looks like i am going to end up getting the nos 5177 kit. I just bought a nx bottle opener. I am just trying to find the best place to get it from and the cheapest. I will be getting the nx bottle warmer also. Will the nx bottle warmer fit the 15# bottle?
