purge tubing/hose question
Bought a used NX kit which came with a purge silenoid, but nothing else. So have nothing to connect to silenoid to run the purge line. I am planning to try and get the thing to purge out my hood scoop, so obviously brakeline will not do for the entire system as most people seem to be using. What do I need to start with? I would imagine I might need to start from the silenoid with brake line and then switch to nylon tubing?? I plan to do a dual purge, so would it be easier to T it off with brake line or after I go to nylon tubing? And I imagine it would probably be best to switch back to brake line at the end for the actual purge?? Even if it isn't necesarry, I probably will just because it will be easier and probably less noticable in the hood scoop. If anyone could give me some rough ideas of what I need and how I should hook everything up I would really appreciate it. Looking for any special connectors I will need for brake line to nylon tubing and back. Think I'll be sticking with 3/16" throughout the system. Thanks for the help.

Go to alaska rubber and supply on old seward, go in there tell them you need some braided line of some sorts, it needs to be flexible. Bring your solenoid, fittings and they should be able to hook you up.

Hey Gregg what's up? It Rick from Alaska we talked years ago when you moved up but never met. I used copper tubing and compression fittings. A tubing bender is cheap and you can get a small diameter tubing in a coil then cut what you need to length. It is cheap but don't look as nice as braided line.

There is pressure! If your bottle is at 1000 PSI then there is the pressure. I have blown out a few differnt typs of high pressure (rubber) hose.

Re: purge tubing/hose question
Yeah a freind of mine thaught that the high pressure nylon line would work too. BUT HE HAS LEARNED HIS LEASON! After about 20 bucks of compression fittings to fix the busted places he has given up and not tried to fix it again. LOL I don't have a purge yet but when I get my hands on one(I have many more important things right now) I am gunna get some copper oil pressure sending unit line(avaible at pretty much any local Autozone) and run mine through it.
Cheap and sturdy.... which it isn't the most attractive thing its effective.... and you would be amazed what some silver or black spray paint would improve!

Re: purge tubing/hose question
I have a car here that uses 2 sections of 1/8" copper tubing. The two sections are connected by a peice of high pressure rubber fuel line. We went ahead and did a small flare on the ends of the copper tubing and secure the line with some hose clamps. It holds the pressure just fine. On a side note, we originally had a small peice of thin rubber line (low pressure line, vacuum line or something). It blew it up and popped like a balloon.
