Default crank case pressure

Had a oil leak on oil pan, fixed it. Went to the track couple weeks later did a couple nitrous runs. 1st run was good no complaints. 2nd run had some smoking coming from somewhere while going down the track. The next day looked all over the car for a leak, their was oil drips on bottom of oil pan and their was some oil around the spark plug holes never found a leak. Their was oil spray across the hood and noticed some oil around/on the pcv lines close to catch can. I talked to my tunner/mechanic and he said sounds like during using the nitrous its building to much crank case pressure and needs a way to releave it, he suggested a valve cover breather. A friend of mine mentioned that he had used one at one time and took it off because when he sprayed it was blowing oil out of the breather all over the fender well.
Suggestions/ideas??

I ran into the same problem and tried to do a breather in each valve cover but will spray oil all over. I messed with it trying different cheap fixes including a catch can and it was never right. After my car caught fire at the track I finally broke down and bought a vacuum pump and have not had any problems since. Luckily the track staff was right there to put it out and I did not have major damage just a few melted wires.

I run a breather off the oil cap and just have the old pcv ports on the vc open and I have no issues with oil spraying.

I've had similar problems when doing high rpm burnouts, but never at WOT. OP, you "may" have a ring issue. I'm running 3 breathers w/no pcv system as well.

try and exhaust evac setup if you dont have money for the pump or room. I run the evac with a 300 shot no problems. 2 - 1/2" to 10An fittings 1 in each valve cover. weld some kind of baffle to the inside of the valve cover to keep oil out. run some 10 an hose down to just after the headers in a straight spot. weld in some evac fittings like 30 bucks on jegs hook up and good to go. $100 bucks into it with the welding havent had a issue since.
