The union stars are suppose to lead the way, so it's not a left or right thing. FYI

Post pics of the intake when it come off!

I guess this is a time where you could say "you'll blow the welds off your intake" haha! Sorry it's trashed but just an opportunity to build it stronger

Under your hand looks to be the MAP sensor.

In the last picture the connector you are pointing at is the Cam Sensor.
It drops into a hole in the block and picks up the rotation of the cam, using this info along with the crank sensor it can determine both rpm as well as where the engine is at for the proper timing and firing order.

Unless your block was converted to a 58x due to the cam sensor being placed in the front of the timing cover (only on newer gen iV engines, ls3 and such.) and that sensor is just there to fill the hole, (very unlikely.).

You may have blown the connector off and if so that would prevent it from firing when turning over as the PCM can not determine when to fire spark or spray the injectors.

The connector may have fallen under the tranny tunnel and you'll have to fish it out if it was blown off. It has a bit of wire from the harness allowing it to move around if free. Check under the tranny tunnel if you haven't found the connector Or follow all wires coming off the main loom of the harness to see if you can find it (or what is left of it).

That sucks, but sounds like lady luck was still looking out for you since it could have been a lot worse.
IMO, put a BBK SSI intake on there. Then if that ever happened again you'd likely only have to remove the bottom panel and hammer it flat and reinstall it.
