New to nitrous but trying to figure out whats better to run and whats the gains between the 3?
I have 2005 Pontiac gto with ls2. Looking to get Super Victor with elbow but what system to go with?
The Plan:
Im just going Nitrous and cam only. See how fast i can get it on stock bottom end. Im forging the motor for nitrous with bigger shot like 300 shot 2 stage next year.
Mods:
233/239 595 602 lsa 112 (switch to nitrous cam)
LT Pacesetter
SW exhaust
KnN air filter
Stage 3 trans with tci 3500 stall
Aeromotive A1000
If u run the stinger plate or puck I would recommend to stay away from using an elbow and run a 4150 style throttle body. Better distribution to the cylinders. Elbows kinda deflect the air and favor certain cylinders. Everyone has there own opinion but to me a direct port is not worth the money unless ur having problems with certain cylinders then u can fine tune it. Hopefully nitrous outlet can step in here and give u a run down on what would work best for u but I know they have guys spraying 250 + using either the stinger or pucks with no problems . hell I just recently sprayed 250 with stock style intake and nitrous outlet 78mm plate. No problems at all
Stinger Plate- A Stinger Plate is the most user friendly of the three options you posted. It's a bolt-on system, and can be installed using basic hand tools. With the ability to flow 600HP, and it's unique, extremely effective 360* dispersion pattern the Stinger is the most bang for the buck when it comes to plate systems. However, since the Stinger only uses 1 nitrous and 1 fuel jet it isn't as tunable as say, a direct port system.
Puck System- The Puck is the median between a plate and a direct port. With the ability to spray down each individual runner of your intake, and a max flow rate of 400HP (for now :-D) the Puck System is a favorite among those who want a great system with direct port benefits, without a direct port price tag. Working off of the premise of a plate, the Puck only uses 1 nitrous and 1 fuel jet. However, it's distribution is much better than any plate on the market. The only downsides to the puck is that to get the most out of it you can, I recommend getting your intake ported and have the runners flow-matched. Also, the Puck must be put into your intake here at Nitrous Outlet, and the turn-around time is generally 2 weeks.
Direct Port- A direct port nitrous system offers the ultimate in tunability, and flow. Most direct port systems max flow well in excess of 700 HP. With a nozzle in each runner, and each nozzle having it's own fuel and nitrous jet, you can tune a direct port to have the most absolutely spot-on tune possible. However, a direct port is not only expensive, but if you're new to nitrous it can be very overwhelming to tune (you have 16 jets, instead of 2). Direct port systems can be installed here at Nitrous Outlet, or through one of our dealers. However, if we plumb it, there's is a turn-around time of about 2 weeks.
You would make more power if you switched to something like an Accufab 4150, but if you wanted to run an elbow you can with little effect. The elbow we have here at Nitrous Outlet is designed to clear the stock hood, so it's worth checking into to see if it'd fit your needs. Let me know if there's any other questions you have, I'd be more than happy to answer them for you.
The only reason why i'm going with the elbow is because I have a ls2. I have a electric Throttle Body. I would love to run the carb style but i think its to much work to change it over.
See i have the fast 102 with nitrous outlet direct port 2 nitrous, 2 fuel jet with purge hard lines never been used yet. I just have the fear of the intake blowing up and there goes over 3k in nitrous and intake. What i was wounding if i took all the parts off my intake because nothing been used and have u guy install it on super victor intake what would it cost?
I know u cant re-use the hard lines and fittings no more
You would get 4150, haven't hit mine puck yet but I have no doubt it's going to be a fun ride. I would recommend the plate or the puck. I like the puck myself.
