9 second ET possible?
I'm currently running a 100shot on top of my H/C setup and have ran a best of 10.56@128 with a 1.55 60ft (not spraying out of the hole). I was looking through the nitrous list and noticed that all the 9.99 or better cars are all on atleast a 200shot. I only need a 5tenths gain and think on a 175shot my car would dip into the 9's. Does anyone else think this is possible?
that last .5 seconds at that point is extremely difficult. going from 11.00-10.50 you can do with pure hp and tq. to hit 9s, you need real chasis tuning. give it hell though!
Try spark plugs with nitrous oxide catalyzer. They are proven to add from 1/3 to 1/2 of nitrous power.
These plugs are avaliable in Russia (my invention) and will soon be sold by NX.

wow, um someone is 1) spaming this forum and 2) invented something totally retarded sounding with these nitrous plugs. almost sounds like a joke. nitrous oxide IS a catylist.
To Josh & BMN: Some detailed info is on www.sokolniki.com. It starts in russian but it has an english version.
To gator's 99TA: You seem not to know chemistry. N2O is not a catalyzer, but an oxidizer, that starts working only at temperatures near 600 C. It decomposes into nitrogen and oxygen (its volumetric share increases from 21% in air to 33%). Also there are some factors why nirous oxide works, but it takes too long to explain you.
It`s important that using the catalyzer, temperature of N2O decomposition reduces, so N2O starts working earlier.
However, we (and our NX partners) could recieve up to additional 1/3 of nitrous power with these plugs, but our prototype is not perfect, so I hope the addition can be up to 1/2.

I went 10.50's on my very first nitrous pass with my car, I had to spray it another 100 shot on a cool day to go 9.80's, but I have a C5. I agree with what others have said, spray it out of the hole, get it in the 1.40's in 60', and you'll be there.

I've only asked a questions...
I have run 10.32@131 with H/C and a 100 shot with 1.43 60ft.And with a 200 shot I ran a 10.04@134 with a 1.45 60ft.I think that you will need more than 175 shot and probably more that just that less weight more mods and maybe.
But it never hurts to try.So go for it.

Ninefinger, you only gained 3mph when going from a 100 to 200? Was that still using the stock fuel system? seems like something isn't right
Nitrous catalyzer plugs....mmmkay
Flamin, The only way to find out is to try it out. If the 175 doesn't do it, I think it'll be damn close

And I just looked over the Nitrous List and your Screen Name was no where to be seen so that might also have a little to do with your confusion.
And as stated by others in this thread once you are going fast already it is a lot harder to pick up.Also different tracks and times of the year and also on my 10.04 pass that was with 2000+ DA.
And no I highly doubt that the 175 Shot will put the person that started this thread into the 9's.

More power is good! But for serious 9's, you better be ready to shed some weight, and a lot of it. Then hook it all up and there you are. You can break 9's with around 600+ rhp if you have less weight (and I don't mean a stripped tin can) but 3000lbs race weight and traps of 135+
