N/A and nitrous
the thread name sounds dumb, im building an N/A ls1 and i want the timing and everything to be optimal for NA power. I want to run nitrous but timing has to be retarded with nitrous and i dont want that loss in NA power for daily driving. My question is, can i run an optimal NA setup and then at the switch of a button or two have my timing and engine set up to run nitrous???
Bottom line is i dont want to run the motor on a nitrous tune 24/7, only when i want it, i want an N/A beast at all other times

Add a retard box. When the nitrous activates it will retard the timing as many degrees as you have it set for. Very simple setup. You will have to watch your plugs closely to figure out what your motor wants.

Sure you can do that- pick up a LNC-2000 (here's a link to it on our website: http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/lingenf...ontroller.html) and it would do that for you. It's pretty much plug and play for the LS vehicles, and requires hooking only 1 wire into your nitrous system. It also has a 2-step launch control function that if you want to hook up is also only 1 wire and a relay. It can retard up to 15° any time the nitrous is activated, and will allow you to run NA timing for the most power on motor, but have the timing set for nitrous as soon as the LNC is activated. Let me know if you have any questions about it and I'll do all I can to help you out!

You should be able to drive on the colder plugs and not have an issue- you may need to get re-tuned for the colder plugs though. If you spray 150, you can use the NGK BR7EF and gap them down to around 32 and not have any issues as long as you use a LNC to pull the timing.

I always run NGK 4554 in all our motors NA or nitrous to 150 shot gap set to .045" without issue. I would think about .040" at 200 and you might need a colder plug. If you are on stock internals and not very familiar with nitrous, I would recommend you stick to 150 shot. If you have no issue with putting pistons in the motor possibly soon then 200 becomes more reasonable. Not that it can't be done for a long time or even more done by someone that has a lot of experience. It's just there will be a learning curve and if it's your daily car you probably should play it safer.
