Possible bent rod in 5.3 on nitrous
Hey guys i got a bone stock gen 3 5.3 in my 85 s10, cold air intake, headers, tuned with hp tuners, th350 with brake 3000 stall convertor, 3.55 gears, cal tracs, 50 50 shocks in the rear and
90 10 up front and nitrous system.
ran it at the track on sunday and it went 8.5 @ 83 mph with a 1.9x 60 ft on motor 3 times,
I then sprayed it off the line leaving on the transbrake with the 2 step set at 2500 rpm, jetting was 55 n 34 f using the
lnc 2000 box to pull timing.
First pass pulled 8 degrees on the hit to start safe and it went 7.4x @ 90.x mph with a 1.6x 60 ft
2nd pass only pulled 6 degrees and it went 7.4x @ 91.6 mph with a 1.61 60 ft and the truck started to vibrate
hot lapped to 3rd pass with same tune as 2nd pass and it went the same 7.4x @ 91.59 mph with the same 60 ft only this pass the truck was vibrating so bad it actually moved the whole motor back about half an inch (yes i haf them motor mount bolts tight but shook them loose) and could have shook my brains out!
I thought maybe just a bent drive shaft or u joint but turns out motor vibrates in park the same as it did going down the track!
I checked the plugs and they look great! Nothing melted, no signs of detonation.
i inspected the flexplate and couldnt see any cracks anywhere.
I did a compression test and had 145 psi to 155 psi across all 8
What do you guys think?
What are the odds i bent a rod in this thing?
Thanks for your help/suggestions.

Forgot to mention i was using br7ef plugs,
this was an 1/8 mile track, and when i checked vibration in park its slightly noticeable at idle but gets BAD when i rev it up.

The motor does not sound like its knocking and is actually very quite.
Ya i guess 2500 is pretty low for the nitrous to come on. Next time out ill set it higher.
I just cant even drive this thing properly it shakes so bad when getting on the throttle.

Inspect the harmonic balancer. The rubber damper could've seen some real ****.
Like it's been already said as well, converter failure seems likely so check that out too.
