Default What to heat bottle too before a pass?

What do you guys heat your bottles to before a pass? I use a jump box and bottle heater . I just don't know what to heat it to or how much it'll cool off while im in the staging lanes temp are probably gonna be around 80 degrees? I'd like to know your guys method of heating bottles with a bottle warmer. How fast do bottles cool down?

At 80 degrees outside the pressure will stay up for a long time once heated to the desired psi. Get a pressure gauge...problem solved lol

Gotcha. Yep my personal experience is once pressure is up it will stay very close to that number for at least an hour or so when temps are like 80 plus

At certain times you'll need it, and others times not. If the car has been sitting all day in the hot summer sun then probably not, but regardless there will be times that you'll need it

Here at nitrous outlet we recommend using 950psi as starting bottle pressure. Some people will raise pressure to 975psi and then purge down to 950psi to make sure the line is completely filled with nitrous and start at the tree/or beginning of a roll race at 950psi. The pressure drop from once the heater is removed from the bottle or shut off is completely based off of ambient temperature. It takes between 90-91* of temperature to keep the bottle at 950psi. So if you are on a cool night the pressure will bleed off faster and cause you to have to raise it up if you are in the staging lanes for awhile.

When I am braket racing I use 900 PSI. Easy to heat to and consist passes. When running for ET I will enter the burn out box at 1000 psi and purge down a little. Anything over 900 for me gets inconsistent (like .02 tenths). And I wont go over a 150 when bracket racing. But will go up to a 300 shot when running for fun. At a 150 shot monitoring the DA and at 900 I will run my dial every time. At a 200 shot 900 PSI my 60' will be between 1.44 to 1.49 so not to good bracket racing.

Way to many variables to just say run this PSI. 1069 is the suggest max. anything below that comes with experience.

Thats the gauge I use. Installed right at the purge solenoid (close to the intake)

We use a hot water bath from Nitrous Outlet that heats 2 bottles. http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/nitrous...le-warmer.html Its the best thing for heating bottles and having them hold the heat in.
