Opinions on my NEW nitrous system
Hello fellow LS addicts,
I would like some opinions on my nitrous toy. Most parts are being shipped with the idea of installing it all in the spring when the weather warms up a little. I will start with what I have done. This was my first engine build/swap so I am learning the mistakes I made as I go. I DID NOT give my builder instruction to gap the rings for boost/nitrous. I have ran it N/A for about 1,000 miles and I want more.
2000 RCSB Silverado
Built 6.0 bored 30 over
TSP Camshaft (Duration 231/234 111 LSA) (lift @1.7 629/615)
Forged Pistons (Mahle) and Rods (K1)
Stock polished crank.
243 Heads with complete spring upgrade and trunion kit
F.A.S.T. LSXRT intake with 92mm throttle body
11:1 Compression
Electric Fan Conversion
Built 4l80 from Transbuilder Guy out of Florida
Factory 10 bolt rear end w/ TA Performance cover and ARP bolt upgrades
Eaton TruTrac 4:10
Here is what I have ordered for my nitrous build. All parts are coming from Nitrous Outlet directly or one of their distributors.
99-06 Truck Dedicated Fuel System
Lingenfelter LNC-2000
F.A.S.T. 102 Truck Plate System
Promax Dual Channel Controller
Stage 3 Accessory Kit
(2) 10lb bottles
Remote Bottle Opener (not yet purchased)
Speaking with Brandon at Nitrous Outlet suggested using the Promax for ramping up the nitrous due to traction issues I will have.
He also suggested to use the dedicated system with C16 and nitrous.
What are your thoughts and suggestions? How much power do you think I can safely add? This truck is a STREET VEHICLE. It will see ZERO track time. Just want to have a friendly street race from time to time.

It definitely has its uses. You can use all of the nitrous out of a bottle with it. You will have consistent bottle pressure which is always a plus. Downside is refilling another bottle, finding someone to refill it and maintaining bottle temp. You've got 1000psi bottle pressure until the temp outside gets hot, then you've got too much bottle pressure. Now, you're cooling bottles down rather than heating them.

Nano is more ideal in cold weather on snowmobiles as its harder to keep bottles heated. The Nitrous Outlet bottle heater bracket works awesome!

I think I'm putting the cart before the horse. I should get it installed and get some experience before I jump on the Nano wagon.
I thought I had everything I need but after some more reading, I dont think I have it all yet.
