Default To nitrous or not to nitrous...

Hey guys, here’s my build list
6.0 lq4 bored .30 over approx11:5-11-7 compression (approx 1500miles on it so far)
ls2 rods
ls2 crank
arp main,rod and head bolts
speedpro flat top pistons
.51 mls head gaskets
fic #42lb injectors
prc stage 2.5 ls6 heads milled .20
pat g custom cam (235/242 111lsa+2 advance)
ls6 intake (switching to fast 92 and 85mm maf soon)
4l60e with tci 3000 stall, transgo hd2, z-pack clutches and alto bands.

I have pretty much maxed out what I can do N/A wise and am looking into adding some nitrous, I don’t know much and am looking for guidance on what I should be looking for that’s not gonna be extremely hard on my fresh motor but can use once in awhile to have fun with. Also not sure if I should be looking for more of a dry shot if I’m using it sparingly or a wet shot for consistency. Not even sure if I can run nitrous safely as I have read that you really don’t want any advance timing and my cam has +2 advance already ground into it, any help would be appreciated

Everyone should spray nitrous! What fuel pump do you currently have? That is going to be your limiting factor. I would think your 3000 converter would really like a 150 shot. You can find used kits pretty cheap on Facebook. In addition to the main kit, you will need a WOT switch and a way to pull timing.

Currently stock but I have a racetronix pump and Hotwire kit sitting on my bench ready to go in. And as far as pulling timing I would have the car dynoed but with my cam having + 2 advance ground into it is that gonna make it difficult to tune and or not make it as safe to run nitrous?

For a 100-150 shot just a simple basic wet kit with the proper plugs, enough pump and injector, and a little timing pulled and you'll be set. No need to worry about that cam either. I'm running a very similar cam but with 4 degrees advance on a 150 with no issues. 11:5.1 compression HCI LQ9. Very similar to your setup

That’s good to know especially with you running a similar cam, I guess my other question too is how much harm would I be doing since my rings aren’t gapped for nitrous?

On a 100-150 it's not an issue

It been a while since I've looked around at the different companies, but I've always had great success with NX, NOS, and Nitrous Outlet. Just a simple wet kit is my recommendation

Not so much to do with advance ground in cam, but is the timing you're running.
The normal/safe starting point is to pull 2* per 50hp. So a 100 would be 4* and 150 6*… I have done less on past motors, but these are "safe" numbers.

Be sure to check your plugs on the regular after each pass.

So, what you running now NA ?
I have stock cast pistons that were fly-cut, so I've been a little reluctant to hit mine yet

That cam will work fine!

If you're planning on getting a Fast 92, Check out the system below!

Nitrous Outlet 92mm Plate System

Let me know if you would like for us to spec out the whole system for you.

You should be able to spray 150 forever without problems if the tune is right.

I personally wouldn’t buy anything from anyone but nitrous outlet.

Customer service is second to none. I had a issue with my window switch.. they emailed me a fedex deal and I mailed it out on a Monday. I had my new switch on Friday. To top it off, I didn’t even call them about my issue yet... I had posted about it in a Facebook group to see if anyone else had the same issue and they got ahold of me! They are the friggin ****,

To supply safe high amperage power to high flowing fuel pumps without frying the OEM wiring harness.
