Default Nitrous Advice, SBE C6Z

I am wanting to learn more about going nitrous on my C6Z and safely. I know about standalones, direct port, and progressive controllers but my question is, what is the best to go with? I plan on doing everything Nitrous Outlet and going direct port on my Hi-Ram with a progressive controller and the 1.5 gallon standalone. I want to do a 150 shot SBE and down the road go LSR block and send it to the moon.

My current thinking:

Promax
1.5g standalone
Carbon 12lb bottle
Twin rail direct port with 4 solenoids for the Hi-Ram

I have no idea what else I need. Safe and reliable is what I am after, I should be around 650rwhp on motor after this Winter build and I want to learn about nitrous to go nitrous Summer next year.

I think you're on the right path! Just make sure you get the basics added to your list. Purge kit, bottle heater, spark plugs, timing box etc. Let me know if you would like for us to put a quote together for you!

Why go with an LSR block? Honest question. If you plan to keep it a Nitrous car and want to do anything with the block, just sleeve the LS7 and do whatever you want with the displacement/stroke. I would not add the extra weight on the front end for power goals that are easily acheivable on an aluminum block.

As for the bottle.. Do you only plan on 1 bottle? How regularly are you going to spray? If you plan to spray a good bit, then I would just jump into a dual bottle bracket and carry two 15lb bottles. Or two bottles regardless, whether they are 10/12/15. If you go single bottle in the car, then you will want to have at least 2 bottles to swap between. A 150 will be fine with a -4 feed line, but if you plan on going over that at some point, then just run a -6 feed now and be done with it.

Will do! You purge kit, heater bracket, NGK TR7IX's, and LNC2000 is what I am thinking.

The LSR is aluminum, MID sleeves through RED is an option for my current block. The goal is just keep an aluminum block lol. Nitrous Outlet claims I can shoot up to 800 through direct port so whatever can hold 1400+ I will go with. I should be 650-700 rwhp on motor. A billet CCW crank, billet I-beams, and billet pistons with clevite bearings and ARP everything will go in the SB.

As for the bottle I plan on 1 Carbon 12lb for weight. Hardly ever, I will grab a mother bottle and have a few back ups for events I go to. I may do 2 12lb bottles, it should not be that heavy. I am also doing the trunk mounted standalone so that is weight there. Thank you for the advice on running a -6 feed, I definitely will.

Do not run any tr series plug. At a 150 shot, you will want to run a br7ef at the gap it comes out of the box at. You're going to want some weight on the back end, might as well just go dual bottles in the back.

That is what I was thinking, BR7EF's. True on weight on the back end for traction, heck I may go with the regular bottles then. A buddy has a 2 gallon fuel cell mounted in the rear of the trunk before the latch and weight distribution-wise that is perfect.

Definitely go with with the BR7's for the 150 shot. The direct port system can spray 800, but your motor can't take that much. Just work your way up slowly.

A little update, I grabbed a plate kit, Winmax, a 10lb bottle, heated bracket, 2 gallon standalone, and -6an purge. I need a 102 plate and LNC-2000 and I should be golden. I plan on selling the Winmax for a progressive controller like the Promax though.

I may be grabbing an F-Body so the nitrous build may be put on hold for a while. UNTIL I PUT NITROUS ON IT TOO!
