NXL fuel solenoid problem?
I dyno'd my car today, and it is extremely lean. I unhooked one of the fuel hoses on each rail, and manually jumped the solenoids. The nitrous solenoids open with a very loud click. The fuel solenoids are audible, but not nearly as noisy. Also, with the car fuel system pressurized, NO FUEL comes out!?
Does this sound like 2 bad fuel noids? I would expect fuel to shoot out of the rail with the key in on position (not running), right? Help please.

NX noids are pretty quiet, but yea with the key in the "ON" postion I think you would have fuel shoot out of the rail - that makes sense.
have you checked your fuel pump fuse, (just a shot in the dark)
What jets are you using? For the 180 shot, I tried the 28/14 and was pig rich, then went to 28/12 and was too lean.
THe NXL kit is a bitch to tune, that is why I am going back to a more simple setup like the maf kit

Im gonna run outside and do the same test and let you know, be right back . . .
EDIT: I did the same test, could barely hear the noids come on. Pulled the Fuel lines off of the rail and turned to "ON" postion - nothing.
Tried on two on each side for ya, front and back of the rails
now, this leads me to think its the same jetting issue that me and everyone else has been running into

You are not the only one with that problem. If you call Nitro Dave, he might be able to give you the name of the tech guy at NX. Call the tech and expalin whats up, send the rails in and they will replace the solenoids.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Yup, mine are doing the same thing. I pulled the solenoids out and installed a thicker O-ring, which helped but I'm still not convinced its spraying the full volume. I'll be calling and talk with the NX guys on Monday, see what they say.

Well, you guys got my attention. I'm very curious to see if this is a universal problem or just a few exceptions.
I haven't been able to run my system yet since I installed it at the beginning of the year cause I'm still waiting for Jay at Absolute to get my heads back.
At least this is hopeful in the relevance of everyone seemingly having problems getting their systems running and tuned properly.

My system is not flowing the full amount of fuel either. I attributed this to having too small of fuel pills. But maybe the solenoids are not flowing the full amount. It would be diffuclt to check this without the proper tools though. I am going to try larger fuel jets. Let us know what you find out. I do know that NX is redesigning the solenoids to allow for better fuel flow to support above 180 shot. This system does seem problematic.

does anyone have connections over at NX with Ricky the designer. I think they need this post (as well as the hundred other ones( regarding too rich/too lean needs to be brought to their attention
If no one volunteers, I will do it late next week when I get back.
THis is getting out of control the amount of problems these kits are giving all of us

Are you guys trying the test with a cold engine? Just wondering if the solenoids are getting to hot...Sounds like NX needs to know about this. Im sure they will come up with a fix for you all. Sticking fuel solenoids or low flowing is scary stuff! Any of you folks datalogging this problem to see how lean it really is?

I spoke with Josh @ NX, he is sending new pistons because he thinks they have swollen up due to something in the fuel. I use 93 from Amaco exclusively. I am concerned this will happen again. I never had any problems with my TNT noids sticking. I am a bit uneasy about this fix. I am sure it will fix it short term, but I dont want the damn things to swell up and I spray no fuel.
How many other people have this problem?

Fuel piston swell difenitly could be a problem. Also the additives the gasoline companies put into the fuels change from month to month. It is impossible to have one pistion work with all different types of fuels. IF this is the problem probabily will not happen again. Let us know if that was the fix.

I had one fuel noid fail completely and I am not sure with my results if the noids on the car are working correctly. Honestly I am beginning to get a little worried to even try it out because all the problems. I dont want to go big time lean and detonate the engine into little pieces.

I am so nervous with this kit, I know fuel additives can cause the stopper to swell, but my TNT kit and all my friends TNT kits around here never have this problem....
