Default detonation,detonation,detonation...

all right i dnt know if many people have these questions and/or problems.....but detonation is a big part of n2o,IMO.ok well i am basically a n2o newb, but ive been having probs w/ the timing tuner(un-hooked it for now)k,well when i spray its super nice thru 2nd..but when i hit 3rd...it hits then cuts-out,then kicks again, cuts out...etc etc etc.is this detonation? and if so,can i just run a higher octane fuel(normally just 91 here in cali )will it cure this nasty disease? TIA.(my fuel would prolly be 106-octane)
P.S. i really think this would be a great sticky.(wink, wink admin lol)

What problems were you having with your Timing Tuner? Go get on the dyno with A-tap or EASE, and a wideband, and see what is happening there. You could always just mix in some 106 and see if that helps the situation.

The only problem with ATAPing with the Timing tuner hooked up is that the timing tuner is altering the crank signal before it hits the pcm, so spraying & ataping with the Timing Tuner hooked up will only be good for reading KR & 02's. None of the timing numbers will be ok.

Which is exactly what he should be looking for at this point.

I agree. , just wanted him to know that the timing numbers that he will see while ATAPing with the TT active won't be accurate.

Do you have a FPSS? It sounds almost like it's kicking off/on as the car uses more fuel. Just a guess.

Spend the money and get a FPSS, an FPSS is a whole lot cheaper than a motor.
