Beginner Kit: 5177 or Halo Kit
Alright guys, I have been seriously tempted to put a small shot on my SS. I have decided that I want to go dry and keep it fairly hidden . (I would order the Halo kit with the feed line coming up from the bottom, or mount the 5177 nozzles poking through the air filter)
I am currently leaning towards the 5177 kit due to a long track record as a good starter kit. Also, TByrne has it on sale right now for a pretty good price. Are there any pros/cons I should know about either of these kits?
As far as accessories, I figure I should have a bottle warmer, window switch, FPSS, and swap to a set of TR6's. Is there anything else that is not included in the kit that I missed or should plan on getting?
Lastly, since I will probably be spraying a 100 shot (80rwhp shot on Halo), would it be wise to make any fuel system upgrades or tuning changes. I currently have 28.8 injectors as my only fuel mod, and a stock tune.
Thanks for any help
Jeff

A 100 shot won't stress your fuel system witht the mods you have. You will be fine. As far as the accessories you have pretty much named everything....you might want to get a purge kit, but you don't have to get one.
I have a 5177 kit and I have liked it. IMO you can't go wrong either way. The halo is a cool setup. Both kits are name brand so quality won't be a issue.
Get whichever one is cheaper.

Go with the Halo kit for sure, all you have to do is look at the parts offered in each kit side by side and your decision will be made. I am a little biased considering my car was the test car for this kit but I can tell you it worked like a charm and this fall I will be doing something quite interesting with this kit.

I was under the impression that the parts offered in the Halo kit are all NX (except for the Halo ring, of course). Is this the case? Also, it looks like it only comes with one solenoid, compared to the 2 of the 5177. Is there any disadvantage to this (say in the event of a solenoid failure)?

Maybe one of the guys from Nitrous Express could explain the reasoning behind having only one solenoid, and if there is any real benefit to having a second one.
