Great post
I have heard the term before, but what is a nitrogen push over regular nitrous?

The nitrogen push is a tank with nitrogen in it. You ahve the seperate tank with a line and a regulater to regulate the pressure down to a 1000 psi.It flows into the nitrous bottle causing it to maintain the same bottle pressure threw out the hole run.

The nitrogen push also allows you to get more efficient use out of the nitrous in your bottle. The nitrogen maintains constant bottle pressure by "pushing nitrogen" into the bottle, a heater heats up the nitrous and can and will burn off some liquid nitrous into gaseous form to maintain the pressure which results in loss of nitrous.

One drawback to the nitrogen push system is it's not NHRA approved, therefore you can't use it at the track.

Yeah, only real downside is not being legal. Other than that is is real trick and allows you to manage rather large shots safely by keeping your cylinder pressures in check.

As for the parts needed, it all depends on how you want to do it. The price range between the different versions is pretty big. You can do it with solenoids or pressure regulators to maintain the push pressure.

Everything about the system is a pro, except for that NHRA thing, that's the only con I can think of.

I also need details for this I have my bottle mounted in the bed of my truck and I doubt a bottle heater is going to keep the temps optimum when it freezes around here.

Check out this thread:

383LQ4SS and C4VetteLS1 I'd say are pretty much the guru's around here on nitrogen push systems.

You bet Dave. If you look at that link it has a good description of mine. There are a few other way to do this...but this is the least expensive and most effective way I have found so far. It does add a bit to preperation....filling the nitrogen bottle...but let me tell you...whne the nitrous bottle is full...and the nitrogen bottle is full....there are NO worries.

Down here we actually run over a bridge...usually from samll roll (yes lots of single turbo supras here) this setup allows me to run numerous runs back to back to back. And everytime I look at my nitrous gauge its dead nuts at 1050 psi. Even running the 300 shot.

Dave...send me an email if you have any questions about my setup. Ill be more than gald to share info.

Good to see you are FINALLY listening to me about something, haven't I discussed a nitrogen push system with you at least 4 times now You will definatly need something like this to keep your bottle pressure with the amounts of nitrous you are going to be spraying.

There's nothing quite like the squeal of a nitrogen push setup.

So sexy.

Hmm i read that other link and I sounds awesome but I do have a question. Why are you using nitrogen instead of nitrous in the other bottle? I saw you said you would have to heat it up buy why? whats the difference between nitrogen and nitrous?
