Whats a good Nos cam? Posting this in the correct forum for a friend. quote (Hi there guys, I'm new to the ls1 tech and looking for some info. I have a 2000 c5 and need some cam input. It is preferable to have a split duration cam where the exhaust duration is larger than the intake duration. Locally, the RPM4 has had very good success and is seeing great results on the bottle.

If you're shooting anything under a 200 shot on a street/strip car, then buy a cam that suits your NA goals. Don't get too caught up in picking a nitrous grind for a car that sees much more NA use than N20 use.
That said, generally speaking, a wider LSA and traditional split is usually the preferred setup for a nitrous cam. The TSP 231/237 makes excellent power NA (400+ RWHP on several occasions), works well with N20, and sounds awesome. It may be one to think about if you don't mind spending the money for a good tune.
That's just my $.02 based on what I've read. I'm no expert, so I'm sure there are others who can provide some better info.

Generally speaking, nitrous cams have much more exhaust duration than intake duration. The reason behind this is that the use of nitrous speeds up the burning of the air/fuel/nitrous mixture, which allows us to keep the exhaust valve open for longer to let all of your new found cylinder pressure out. Nitrous cams also typically have a wider LSA. Typically in the range of 114 - 118 degrees.

I have a cam FS that made great NA power and seemed to work great with the N2O as well. it will run fine with a good tuner.
