I have the bottle mounted behind my passenger seat on my short cab truck. The seat touches the bottle and since I read someone saying that the bottle heater element reaches 400* F, I would imagine it will burn the seat or something. I know they make those bottle jackets, what are they made of? I don't want to shell out $120 for one as of yet so I want to know what I can cover it with temporarily so I don't burn my seat.
Thanks.
Thanks.

As long as the heater stays in contact with the bottle it would be a real long time to burn the seat if ever. The bottle act like a heat sink, absorbs the heat from the heater. Now if you turn the heater on with out the bottle making contact it will get to 400' degrees and burn itself out.
