Default Purges

Im new to nitrous and I was woundering if you have to have a purge kit for a dry kit? I was looking at the 5177 kit. Is it any good? I have a 2000 camaro ss 6 speed.

Since you are new to nitrous, here is a little info.

Dry kits spray only nitrous into the intake
Wet kits spray nitrous and fuel into the intake

The purge solenoid is used to purge the nitrous line and get fresh nitrous at the nitrous solenoid ready to go.

So you really should use a purge with any nitrous system.

It's also to help get air out I beleive, and since a dry kit shoots into the open air anyway, it's not as important. Dry kits can get away without a purge kit, but half the reason of having a purge kit is to show it off, right?

you dont HAVE to have a purge, i dont. but it is a nice little upgrade to have, you can always get it later on down teh road if $$$ is tight

Purge = get air out of line and fresh nitrous to the noid = good

purge show also = pretty cool / intimidating.

I vote to go for it .
