In my case I wanted a n20 system that I could just get in my truck and when I wanted I could open my bottle, start the heater, purge, spray and see how my baby was running all in one place. I also wanted to be confident that In case something didnt work correctly that I had all the saftey devices needed. I just like to do stuff right the first time. Ive learned that leason before! Good luck man!

I paid 300 dollars for mine. It was still in the wrapper. Guy needed to get rid of it so I bought it from him. I dont have a bottle heater, ( Custom bottle heater) haha, no purge, or no window switch. I have an auto so I would think it would be useless to have. I did change my plugs however. I havent had any problems. KNOCK ON WOOD.
Of course I'm going to the track tonight that may all change. lol

You can do it cheap or do it right.. Doin it right (and safe), costs more money.

How much did all of you guys pay on your nitrous.
Your right on track. Don't listen to "other people". Your estimates are right on, unless your putting a fuel pump in. Good luck with your set up.

A purge kit and Window switch are very important if you have a auto or manual tranny!

Just curious, but what is the importance of a purge. I never really understood what exactly they do.

I've got $3000 into my setup. I think it depends on how much safety you want to engineer in. by my standards you couldnt do a safe enough setup for $1000.

For example, a fuel pressure safety switch is not good enough to ensure safety. You need something to watch the O2s to make sure you're not going lean. Then you know it's safe.

$1000+ sounds about right for the nx kit w/gen2 and safety devices.

I have hit the rev limiter once from spinning but let off of it quick. Didnt cause any damage. Plus I have my rev limiter set high just in case it does slip I have enough time to get out of the throttle.

I had rather be safe also. Especially since my motor only has 30,000 miles.

a purge kit gets rid of any excess oxygen and nitrous out of your lines. It also puts on a nice intimidating show.

Why do people take so much pride in overspending. The more money you spend, the worse you should feel about it. This thread makes me laugh.

$400 dollars, no window switches, no fuel pressure shut offs, no ****** purge valves, no gold plated switches or remote bottle openers. Just an old fire extinguisher bottle, new valve, lines, a good guage, big solenoid and a bunch of radio shack wire, relays and switches I bought with some lunch money. Never a problem, never any confusion and I don't have to have a NASA help me figure out how the window switches work.

Why make a simple thing complicated.

because its better to be safe then sorry, and to do things right the first time. If i was getting a nitrous kit, the LEAST i would get is a window switch if it's a M6, but I'd rather spend the extra dough on safety equipment, then on repairs to the engine.
