Default Window Switch help!!!!!!!!

I just got the MSD Digital WS(PN#8969) and Ive read that you can make it cut the n20 off like 200rpms before you shift and then cut back on 200rpms after you shift. If this is possibel how is it done. There isnt anything in the instructions about this. That is one of the main reasons I got a WS. If this isnt possible what is the best way to not spray through shifts besides manually doing so. I have a auto tranny! Thanks

I don't have the answer to you question, but I'm about to order the digital window switch. Do you mind telling me where you got yours?

Thanks

Wouldnt you just set the cut off say at 6200rpms and then have your car's tranny shift at 6400rpms? That would give you the 200rpms window

Yeah I got a brand new one off of ebay from Atlantic Speed Warehouse for $84. That was just out right buying it not bidding off it but that was the cheapest I found them buy far. Just go to eBay motors and do a search for MSD digital window switch!

Set your window switch off to the same rpm as your tranny is "supposed" to shift at. Usually the tranny goes 300-400 rpm's above the programmed shift point on the 1-2 shift and 200-300 rpm's over on the 2-3 shift. Therefore, it will shift w/o nitrous and get right back on it once in gear. I'm assuming you're using the 4l60e?

Yeah I have the 4l60e- I figured that ahd to be the way it was done but for some reason I was thinking it was a type of option on the WS! Thanks! Ill go down the 1/4 and see exactly where Im shifting and go from there!

1-2 6000rpm
2-3 5900rpm
3-4 5700rpm

Should I raise my shift points or would these be decent? Ill set the WS to turn on at 3000rpms. Please advise I want to try to get this right the 1st time!

On the same note, I would like to know where A4 guys set the 'ON' RPM. My Buddy had a 3,000 RPM pill for his M6. I will probably be running a stall as well.

definately dont spray below 3000 rpm= very bad, if you search you will see outcomes of this. I would just have it turn off at 5900 thats where mine is set to (m6) and it is perfect imo, besides if you have stock bottom end I won't recomend spraying I the 6000's puts a lot of stain on the internals and almost doubles stain on fuel pump, just my two cents.

The 3000 rpm rule is a good starting point but you may want to raise it to adjust for available traction. If you run a big stall and the nitrous kicks in while your still on the tree and you dont have alot of tire The window switch can be a big help to adjust the hit your tires see at launch.IMHO
I personaly hit the first stage with a WOT switch so its right out of the hole. second stage is off the window switch. And i purposefully spray through the shifts

Im going to be running a TPS switch. I have a auto and 4.10's so Im shifting into 3rd gear right befor the end of the 1/4mile. So should I just set the cutoff at 5900 or 5700? I do not want to spray through shifts!

Once it shut off at 5,900 though does it not have to fall back to 3,000 to 'reset'? If I'm running a tall stall this might be a problem.

It does not have to go back to the turn on RPM. As long as your RPM is within range and your foot is to the floor you are spittin out spray. The Timming Tuner might need to drop back down to 3k to reset the turn on delay.

Thanks, that clears things up on how the window switch works.
