what has to be done to an MSD window switch to make it work?

Thats pretty much my question. I know that the msd window switch wont work on our cars unless it is modified someway. I was told that I just need to cut both the wires and make it think it is running on a 4 cyl...am I right? Can someone help me out, thanks

cut the red and blue loops.

Yes just cut the hoops and roll. I have heard, read, and all but actually seen one that did not work. Have installed three personally that work just fine unmodified.

Thanks guys, thats what I thought I had to do.

Andy, my work hours suck giant hairy donkey dick and I barely have anytime to do anything I want. I am going to put my plugs and wires in either thursday, friday or sat...then going to attempt to hook up the switch. After that gets all up and working, I am gonna go a little spray happy. The only problem I see is that I have to do it all in my damned parking lot of my apartment and I will be out in the weather. Anyway, if I get it all up and running by friday night, I may just have to take a few laps around town.
