Default Need opinions hidden or not

I am really considering the Hidden system nitrous setup or just go with the reg visible tnt f1 kit.
Wouldnt people figure it out that i have nitrous sooner or later then make the system pointless unless i race against someone i dont know ? I race with my friends alot and im sure they will spread the word.
If something happened would my insureance raise w/ a visable nitrous kit ?Being in car shows a visiable kit is nice to see

any thoughts ?
thanks

The burst of speed and odd smell is usually a dead give away. If you not racing for $$$ who cares? Unless you going for the "clean look" of course. The other thing is there is only "so many" places you can put a bottle. Pretty easy to find unless you get a long thin one and jam in behind the dash or something.

Why would you have to tell your friends? Get the hidden kit for sure.

No point trying to hide it in my opinion.

I wouldn't bother hiding it unless your really out to hustle people on a regular basis. Just do what I do, tell the locals that you only spray a 50 or 75 shot because you run a real aggressive N/A tune. Many of locals here don't think that my car is anything quick, just another punk that hacked his exhaust off so he can get more attention when doing burnouts at the local Dairy Queen.

Ok, here is a question you must ask yourself and I'm not saying this to be a smart ***. I'm being as candid and honest as I can be. Why would you be worried about your insurance raising with the installation of the nitrous kit. As long as it is legal to have the kit installed on the vehicle I see no reason why it should jack with your insurance rates. Comeon lets be honest here, an aftermarket add-on is an aftermarket add-on whether it be running boards for your pickup or a supercharger kit for your fbody. The only concern would be the emissions legality of it, and that might be where anybody could give you any grief about it at all. Let me also offer a bit of friendly advice. If you are walking thin on cash and you're worried about your premiums going up then shouldn't be messing with something like that. Things break, and with nitrous things break faster LOL. Just my 2 cents

Your point is very valid but unfortunatly many insurance companies will void insurance if your car has a nitrous system in it (if it's disclosed to them). There was a kid asking a question about it not to long ago so I decided to look into it. I actually found that my insurance company (State Farm) will not insure nitrous vehicles. Now, my State Farm agent knows all about it and really likes my car and it has never been an issue. I don't think my insurance would ever be voided unless the car was damaged specificly because of the nitrous (like if I broke the valve off the bottle and it became a cruise missle). I also found that many Hot Rod and collector car insurance comapnies will not insure nitrous vehicles unless you can prove it's only for show (proving that is beyond me), some go as far as not insuring cars that have any kind of cage in it.
