I like the nitrous because of the "hit"... I don't hide my nitrous and love the looks I get when my car is loping away and I let off a little purge... Bang for buck and ease of tuning are the real reasons, tho.

My car likes injecting chemicals, what can I say

Spray is there when u need it, very low tuning problems, adjustable HP, cheap, fun, and one hell of a jolt

I use nitrous because I'm a cheap bastard and can't afford to buy a turbo.

Me to
I over fill the #15 to #17 pound. My friend has always ran 12# in his #10 bottles. By that ratio I should be safe at #18.

for me it was a simple decision. where can you spend $600 and get 125 hp. then turn around and add another 75 hp for free? you can buy a cam and a few other minor bolt ons for that same $600. but you won't get the same results. 125 n2o gets you at least 1 second quicker. cam and other minor bolt ons might get you 4 tenths. let me see 4 tenths all the time or at least one second whenever i want it. fuel mileage and driveability doesn't change unless i use it.

The one thing to remember though, that one guy was wrong on, is that nitrous actually does put as much if not more strain/stress on a motor as F/I. With F/I the power comes on gradually, but nitrous is an instant BANG of power/heat/stress, which is actually more stressful to an engine, and can hurt just as easily, and depending on driver, that 200 shot improperly tuned or setup, will wax your motor if you are detonating, and don't get out of it because you are grinning so bad you don't hear it. I have had N2O and a Procharger, and the price and ease of install/removal is a key factor, but if you hose as much as i did, it was a bottle or two a week during the summer, and at 30 bux ballpark, that is a 500 dollar summer in bottle feeding, i would rather do a mild head/cam setup for a little more $ a helluva lot less stress, but it will always be there for my foot. Bottom line is, that the spray is the best Bang for the buck out there, and will be for a long long time, and is the equalizer for alot of people, and properly hidden..will bring you alot of victories, and some cash too if you are lucky.

but n2o only BANGS your motor when you are using it. F/I is always banging on the motor. and an improperly setup/tuned 200 hp F/I will wax the motor just the same. ask larry skipper with his 04 Z06 that NLP put one on. i thinks it's been six months and the motor let go on him. so, 200 hp adder beating all the time on your motor? or only when you use it?

F/I bangs your motor when you bang the pedal, and yes, any setup can blow up a motor, but same for same, even properly tuned, the N2O is putting more strain on an engine, ask any engine builder, no matter if the engine is built for ir or not, the bottle is harder on parts. If F/I wasn't more reliable/less stressful, than why would it be offered on factory vehicles? I have never seen a factory installed NX kit.

I have done both, and I prefer FI. Love having the power all the time even at part-throttle.

But I started with it cause it was inexpensive.

And FI is alot more easy on the engine than N20.

I use it cause its cheap and only use it at the track when I need to.plus I cant see myself fork out 4-5k for a blower just like that.

I didnt know a turbo would 'BANG' your motor driving around town part throttle
Especially with a electronic boost controller

I dont run N2O but whats not to like about it, its cheap hp in a bottle.

Its not n20 that is more stressfull on the motor in its own. Its the full application of power at one time. there is a nice way to solve that. Its called a progressive controller. I can make the 96' nearly fell like its got a turbo or supercharger on it by ramping it up slowly in every gear. Of coarse I do not ramp it that slow though. Usually in a half second I have it full on.

i like nitrous because its only there when you need it. and if there is a stock car that wants to race i can easily turn the juice off and race them. or if there is a modded car i can turn it back on and race them. i can race in different classes and not have people afraid to race me because im running "nos". and for an adrenaline junky like me thats a good thing. dont get me wrong, instead of sucking on the bottle i would much rather be blown, but for a college kid like me who pays for all my stuff ill have to wait until im out of school and making 120 grand a year before i start blowing my money on a blower when i can make the same power with a 500 dollar kit. my .02

Had most of my kit laying around from my jimmy project, which i will be doing DP on. so all i needed was a 20 dollar spray plate and some jets. but again this car is a experiment for my nitrogen push system and is a budget project only spent about 1500 dollars and thats including the car and everthing i have done

I too went nitrous for the cost savings but it can get expensive if you keep filling that bottle, One thing about forced induction is it has alot more finesse and people with it get alot more respect vs nitrous (even though this should not be it is). But you can control the hit on the motor with a progressive controller or even a dual/three stage shot.
