TNT F-1 vs. NX MAF
I have done alot of research on these two kits and I must say that they both sound pretty nice. I have searched and found numerous posts of people saying which one is recommended but is there anyone that is unbias??? Anyone that has owned both? We all like to recomend stuff that we use and have had good luck with, but i really want to hear from someone that has used both. Pro's and cons welcome.. TIA
well I have the tnt kit and I hate the power ring. It is too big to stay on the tb good and Makes it hard to find a bellow unless your willing to cut the lid.....Other than that its great.
I have had both. I had a F1 and a F2 kit at different times and I would have to say the MAF kit is way better. Easier to install, looks better, and you don't have to cut you lid or modify anything. You don't have to worry about unmetered air either. Just my .02.
I had to cut about and inch off the lid and I also ground down the inside alittle so I could change the angle of the MAF a bit. Also had to trim the bellow and the lower air box too.
Here's a couple of pics.

i trimmed about an inch off my lid with a dremel, then bought a fernco for a bellow and cut it to fit the gap edxactly. works great now, but im sure the NX is an easier install.

I am bias
The NX maf kit replaces the aluminum housing of a 3 peice maf. You simple unbolt your maf end and replace them the ours. That it, simple install. I am glad to see so many people happy with that kit.

Hey guys, I can honestly say that im not biased!! NX is the only nitrous company that TNT refers customers to.. I like the MAF kit, and I will give ya the ease of install, but if half an inch of plastic is going to be the deciding factor then the choice is clear.. On the other hand I would be willing to put up a TNT PowerRing kit to a back to back run against a NX MAF kit on a publicized dyno and track run, what do you say "bias" Ricky??
What is the competition?
Both systems are capable of pumping in enough n20 to blow a stock ls1 to pieces? Unless you run a stock fuel system, then the fuel supply is the limiter.
So how do you plan on measuring which is better?

Exactly,
David what would you try to prove. People already flame TNT for making more than the advertised HP and they blame that on the jetting. Now, I am a more than happy TNT customer and you guys have been great to me but I don't think that track/dyno tests would do much for someone that's shopping for a new kit. I think most customers focus on overal quality, design, and layout. So why don't you guys focus on the technical aspects for the customer. Like the design of both kits and why one thinks that their's is better for whatever reason.

Cutting your 120+ clear lid in my case is not something I want to do in the case I sale the nitrous......

On to answer the question. I have never owned and T-N-T kit OR and NX MAF kit so you can overlook my opinion of you choose. T-N-T kit uses a dual nozzle setup as you can see in the pics above. So your going to get a good even spray. The same with the MAF kit. Your going to get a good even spray. So if I was in the market I would go for "bang for the buck" and ease of use. I dont know the price difference and you cant go wrong with eiter system. It "seems" the NX maf kit has rave reviews, less to mess with on installs. But if the TNT ring is cheaper by a good amount I would not think twice about buying it up and dealing with the few install issues.
TNT doesn't use "NX" products but they do use some of the same manufacturers. Such as Peter Paul solenoids. However, you will find almost all the quality nitrous companies using PP noids and such. As for the noid designs being exactly the same, I'm not sure. They maybe built to each companies specs.
It is really hard for the people that are looking at both these kits when they are shopping. They are both great set ups with great customer service.
