Removing MAF SCREEN for dry shot..
It's said that the screen can freeze up on a nitrous run. When I had a dry shot I pulled mine when I installed the kit so I can't say if they freeze up that easy or not. I'm sure that there are more than a few people here running a screen with a dry shot, maybe they'll chime in.
I pulled the screen on the '97, no problems. And in '02 the Z06 came as screen less and this was one of the ways that the GM egineers got more HP out of the ls6 by being able to flow more air. This should tell us something. But, some report running lean after removal and that also says more air is entering (volume), right? Retune is in order in those cases.
I removed mine. Went to a 120 shot and was worried the screen would freeze & break off in pieces, go into the engine. It's got noticeably quicker throttle response now, but the idle seems to seek more. No regrets, for the most part, except the darn thing broke when I pushed it out... also noticed no difference in O2's before & after under the juice or N/A.

A huge amount of us in NZL & AUS go mafless for better air flow & more power, but if your spraying a dry 150 shot without a maf how does the computer no when to supply extra fuel.

Yes they remove the entire MAF from the car. People over there and over here do it.
The PCM cannot automatically adjust for extra fuel if you aren't running a MAF, so you either have to run a wet system, or adjust your PCM yourself for the N2O.

Do a search under Holden and MAF and you will start to see lots of post and links for removing the MAF and running in speed density mode, which is what your car does anyway if your MAF takes a dump. It looks like a reprogram is needes to do it. The results look like a little more power due to less restrictions and better trottle response.
