Default help with gear selection

i've posted a few weeks ago in regards to what gear i should run in my 12 bolt. I'm running a 16-8 rim with a 26/10.5 slick and it's a m6 car. I'm also spraying a 150 shot and i wanted to know what most guys are runnig on the bottle. I had 4.10 in my old ten bolt but i never sprayed it, so now i bought a 12 bolt with 3.73 gears in it but i really don't know if i should chage it to4.11. If anyone has an educated awnser please let me know.

Ive heard that 4.11's are stronger but I could be wrong! I plan on buying a 12 bolt with 4.10's soon and I will be spraying a 100 shot on it with no worries! MY opinion is ud be fine with 3.73's or 4.11's, so it comes down to what might "better" your cam more!

Goodluck and let us know what u decide to do and how it turns out!

Like I said before, with the smaller 26" tire, I'd stay between 3.23 and 3.73 ratio until you get up over 135 MPH trapspeed, then I'd consider dropping the ratio down further and/or increasing the tire diameter.
As a general rule, nitrous will like the lower of two gear ratios with most combinations.
Also as a general rule, the fewer teeth on the ring gear is stronger.

You should be find with the 373's and nitrious.Like someone said before nitrious likes taller gears.I had 26" tire with 150 shot and 410's on a 12 bolt and would run out of gear in the quarter. So I switched to a 28" tire to take care of that problem. Now a trap 127 mph at 6400 rpm's.Dont waste your money on a new r/p (410's) If you gonna spray alot you might end up like me running out of gear.

stay with a 342 gives room to grow. Or if you are switching up nothing more than a 373.

Default gears

i just wanted to thank everyone for there opinions, but my worry is what if i want to go to a 28" tire in about two months. That's the main reason i was asking. I don't know if it would be wiser to change it to a 4.11 now or just stick with the 3.73.

okay, what are you looking to trap? what rpm are you willing to spin? what size tires are you going to go with? stick or auto? 28's have alot more bite then the 26's.... thats why they call em axle snappers.

those 4 questions will determine what gear you want. all the rest is filler

That run was not on that power level. Maybe I should put it in my sig for clarification?
