What cams are you guys running? Id trade 100 ft lbs at 3500 for 60 hp at 5500 all day long for a setup we are doing. Notice some cars are making tons more torque then hp and some are close

Must be nice!!! Is 654rwhp the horsepower you had when you ran your 9's at 141mph? On my small shot I put down 650rwhp I have moved on to big boy territory. My problem is I dont want that much tq. I am going to spray later to decrease my tq spike. I want top end power. I will be running two stages in the end. I street race so I want a nasty pull up top instead of all down low. I need traction.

I was planning on doing 93 pump gas in the tank and 104 in the fuel cell, from what I read this is a bad thing to do? Can someone explain why?

We made 860 rwhp last year with a YSI 414 LS1, on 104 octane. Never ran pump gas in it.

821rwhp on a 300 shot (On 28x10.5Ws through a Glide), 481rwhp on motor. Pump gas in the fuel tank, C16 in the Stand Alone. 11.5:1 Compression, Fel Pro Gasketed car.

Now on the fo double oh! I run C14 (112) in my tank and C16 in my Stand Alone. Never dynoed it. Went 119mph in the 1/8th on a 300 shot, and 121mph on a 350shot (progressive) in shittier weather.

It's funny what us Texas Boys are doing with so little

Yup, that was on the lil ole 346 from FMS. Motor is back at Allans for more of a "race style" setup. Ill be spraying 200 out of the hole and another 150 on the roll on this combo. Motor itself should be good for another 50 to 75rwhp as well....

Good to see ya hosing that thing man!!!!

vince
my current setup is a nos 5177 dry kit with no jets in it. pump gas, stock lines, stock rails and 340 intank pump. numbers and times in sig.

i plan to add a 75 - 100 shot second stage to it this year that will spray once i hit second gear, traction would be an issue if i sprayed right out of the hole. how are you controlling your second stage? i was thinking about using a delay box but i dont power shift so that wouldnt work because it comes from wot between shifts.

I use a msd rpm window switch for the second stage.

It is amazing you guys are getting away with running pump gas and race gas in the standalone on such big shots. If this is the case then running 50 percent 100 octane and 50 percent 93 octane should allow me to run between a 200 and 300 shot? If you guys think this is the case please let me know. I am going to try and do some more testing next week on the 50/50 and see how she does on the 200 shot.

You guys are killing me! I can't wait to get my car done! Allan is picking a cam for me. I'll be running a 408 NX direct port. I'm just going to run C16. High compression. On motor I'll run 108. Two seperate fuel pumps. I hope to be done sometime in April. Should be fun.

On my old nitrous setup I "ONLY" used race gas for racing.

NOS Supreme (117) for the track)
Unleaded Plus (104) for putting around town) I never sprayed it on 104, only 117.

I was 12.5:1 comp with a 300 shot.

Almost 800. Spike was there but we smothed it out and ended up with numbers in sig. I run 100 octane.
