Default Inline Pumps No Good For N20?

I'm getting my goods together for my NX Stage 1 Kit (going with 100 shot) and I am trying to save wherever I can. Safely, that is.

With H/C set up, I am running 413 NA to the rear. I know the ultimate thing to do is put an intank pump in, but my bud has got a new inline pump he'll sell to me for $50 (he went with a Huge Shot and Racetronix). That will help me save up for a 1st gear lockout box from BMN.

Is this a "sell out" for safety?

There's alot of people running inline T-REX pumps with there nitrous setups. I think it's a good deal.

Im not a fan of the inline pump.It is a band aid way of doing it.THe problem with doing a inline is that if your motor requires more fuel than the inline can pull through the stock intake pump it could cavatate burning the pumps up and possibly your motor.I have seen it on several cars.I know people use them...BUT.

I basically agree with Dave, even though I have an inline. The difference is, vette fuel pumps are good to 550hp and more (read: volume), the the f-body pumps are only good to 450hp or so (can it support the added volume (internal restriction) or is the pump itself weak?). I think you would be on the edge for safety using a booster at your power levels.

Or you can upgrade your fuel pump pickup to go with a big inline pump. This will probably be the way I end up going since Racetronix blew me off when I was inquiring about getting an intank pump. www.socaldiesel.com has some really nice fuel pump pickups, and they do work on gas vehicles.

Assuming you have a Holley/Walbro in-tank the T-Rex would not be the best choice for an in-line pump. The name T-Rex sounds sexy but the fact is that its flow rating is much less than a Walbro 255. The in-line pump to consider as an in-line supplement to a Walbro 255L/Hr HP in-tank pump is a GSL392.

Racetronic, what does the GSL392 flow. I am using the Bosch 580 254 984, and it flows 235lph and supports 600/650hp as far as I can remember, for comparison.

The GSL392 is advertised as a 255L/Hr hi-pressure pump.

Here is some interesting info for you: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...69&forum_id=87
