You need to relax for a few seconds and quit taking it so personally.
There is nothing mystical or special about putting a 346 LS1 into the 8's. Build a good car, build a good engine, and don't do anything stupid with the nitrous.
Of course, my definition of 'good' and yours, are probably different.

to make a high 8-low 9 second pass will take alot of bugs to work out.anyone can make the power but putting that power to the ground is another, and keeping it there is a project also.

Let's make this easy: If SAM put a 200 shot on their 427 Camaro, what ETs would it run today? Low 8s?

the only thing I can see as the reason it hasn't happened is that the people capable of tuning the setup to hit that mark, don't have the desire to do so.
There are several stock bottom end cars into the mid 9's. And those cars are (obviously) budget cars with a very simple setup. TransAm Dan's car went 9.64, 3100-3150 raceweight, bullshit heads that flowed 280's, a bullshit mid 230's duration cam, and a TNT power ring kit, 250 shot. The other guy (01Z i think) is a nice cam/nitrous car, stock heads, car is right around 3000lbs, he also went 9.64.
So an even lighter car, with a GOOD chassis and suspension setup, properly matched heads and cam package, with a good 346cid forged shortblock setup for nitrous, direct port pilled for 300 out of the gate, another 150 shot partially into the run couldn't run a bottom 9 second pass? That'd be a pretty easy 800-900 rear wheel, so the power would definately be there, it's just a matter of getting the converter matched perfect and having the suspension setup properly.

Thank you Xaom.....
Shop, what are u talking about Noyz..
I havent used a shop on my car for anything for over 2 yrs...
I has ES tune it once, then had Slowhawk tune it...I've worked on my car myself and went 10.80's@124 all motor, was it fast YES,what it anything to brag about NO,hell John R. from TX went 10.60's 5 yrs ago before anyone was running 10 sec all motor passes,he's the guy that should be getting the credit..
I'm not that important Noyz and I dont know where u come off saying I think I'm the best or my cars are the best cause I surley dont think that way..
My TA was average 10.80@124 All Motor
My Gto is slow------>12.90's
I never once said or thought my stuff was better than anyones..
Again what I said was it would be easy to build a purpose built low 9 SEC 346 N20 car and I believe in my heart that its not hard..Time,patience,money is all thats required and I'll believe that til the day I die..
I never even talked about u in that post but u made a point to single me out.I dont know why u did that, maybe your unaware of your inner feelings for me

I know how much time and effort went into my car to go mid 9's, this guy thinks its a walk in the park.
keep in mind he had a heads and cam car, now has a GTO, never had a N2O ls1 car.
keep in mind the tech race weight is 3250 for the car he speeks of.

Race your car!

Heh.. it wasn't even easy for me to get into the 12's... a cam, 12 bolt, driveshaft, clutch and a set of bogarts and e.t. streets, frame connectors, heavy rear sway bar ported tb, pulley and a damn good tune finally got it. Will it be "easy" to get the car inot the 11's without buying more parts... no... that's gonna take alot more work, getting the car just right, right day, etc. etc. Will be done, but not without alot of work first, maybe not on the car, but behind the wheel.
To get anything into the 9's in not easy, getting a car into the 10's is not easy... it all takes work, time, and certainly $$
Anyone that thinks any type of racing is easy... I invite you to come race radio controlled cars with me someday... small toy car, should be real easy right? Yeah.. good luck, I have been doing that for 15 years... nothign easy about it. Try running that simple toy car at at a national level.... easy my ***.
Full size race cars... are alot of work no matter what it is you are trying ot do, rally race, circle track, drag race.. it's all alot of work. anyone that think's it is easy, has never done it. Tossing $$ at it all day long still won't make up for lack of operator, or a poor running chassis period.
I know what kind of work Brad has in his car, I've been around for some of it... and I'll tell ya, he's still working, damn hard too.. maybe not under the hood, but behind the wheel for now. I don't care what anyone says.... running 9's is not easy.. 10's really isn't easy either.. it takes alot of work, and everything has to be right.

How fast could you go if you built something that was a "hard" build?
Geez guys, my car is capable of 11's possibly high 10's and I feel like I've worked my *** off to get to this point. Between replacing transmissions, changing the rearend, all the suspension mods, and most importantly my real job to pay for all this. I find it hard to beleive that it could be considered "easy".

There is no reason an N/A 346 LS1 couldn't make 700. Put 1 fogger pilled for 300 on that and you've got 1,000 HP. 1,000 HP @ 3,000 lbs will go 8's all day long!

I've gone low 9s...easy my ***. JS, I've got a bone stock 99 Z28 make it go 9s and see how easy it is, LMAO.
P.S. BTW, If it's so easy to go 9s and 8s then everybody would be doing it and there would be a bunch of really fast street cars. It could probably be done but it wouldn't be easy.
