Default max effort cam for nitrous

i've really not seen any posts on max effort cams for spray (even when i searched) so lets have it.

347 motor, decent direct port shot, currently has a 242/248 cam on a 111 lsa but want to go to a nitrous cam go get full benefit of the spray

any suggestions? this is not my daily driver so no worries there

What's your SCR? That will determine what cam you need. Also, how much do you intend on spraying?

MTI R1 232/236 is a nice size cam. I know any split cam will work.

SPeced by Allan Futral 260/271 .731/.714 on a 114 lsa Not a great NA cam but it should come alive nicely with even a baby 200 shot. I plan to spray ~350-450 shot

The springs are 1.57 OD double springs with dampner. I just got done redoing the springs setup because I was floating them with the COMP 999s. Setting up springs for this typ of cam requires some forethought. You need atleast .100 longer valves preferably .200 longer. Then you have to machine the spring pockets to a 1.57 diameter which requires some enginuity and skill and some tense moments
With a .200 longer valve and a 1.57 spring pocket you have a wide range of springs to use. I am using the Comp 932s set up at 1.930 installed height which gives a spring pressure of approx 230 lbs on the seat and over 550 open. Word to the wise,,,if you ever want to run a huge cam...get the head flow #s with a single set of valves. Call up your cam guy...spec out the cam...then order the valves and valvetrain stuff you need to make that cam usable. There are springs out there that can handle 1.000 of lift. But if you dont set up your spring pockets and valve lenghts to the right size you are gonna have a tough time.
