What's the advantage of a direct port nitrous system? Is it considered a dry or wet system? Sorry for the dumb questions.

I am considering these two setups (basically because they look cool , dont know much about nitrous).

What would be the pros and cons of these two setups? I plan on doing a 200 shot. I would like to go with the best most reliable setup if possible?

One is a 2 noid and the other is 4 noids. The 4 noid will hit harder, and go to a high power level. Cost is going to be higher also. The 4 noid intake is complete looking and ready to bolt down and connect your fuel line to it. That intake is going to be high pressure. Meaning your limited on hp settings.
The 2 noid looks to be either standalone system, and could be a high or low pressure set up. with low pressure you could have a much large selection of jet settings. That system will hit softer.
All in all both are nice and either will supply 200 hp will out any problems.

Hope this helps.

Ricky answered that very well.

The only thing I have to add is that the two solenoid set up will also be alittle cheaper.

Since the 2 noid would hit softer, would a 2 noid 200 shot be simular to a 4 noid 150 shot? Or would a 200 shot from each be the same? The motor I plan on running this on is a 402 ls2 block. Since the 4 noid is limited to a 200 - 600 shot, would it be smarter to go with the 2 noid and start with a 100 shot and then work up to the 200? Im assuming it would be a smarter way, but ill see what you guys say. Damn that 4 noid looks sweet though. By the way, thanks for all the help. Greatly appreciated.

Hp is HP, 2 or 4 noid. one just comes in quicker thats all. I can turn the 4 noid kit down, to 50 if need be tho no recommended. Quite silly to do,
So the pick your passion, I will get the jetting needed to make it all work out in the end.
Hit Dave up, he told me about some cool stuff he's been working on.

Very false information posted here.

Its agailable in wet and dry conformities. Lots of big 10.5 guys use multiple dry foggers.

Default direct port

Hey Dave,

I'm interested in a 2 rail set up like shown in post # 92, in a single stage application. I have a TPIS mini-ram on a 87 vette, so I do have a rear mount distributor. What type of $ to do a direct port like this?

Why is it not recommended to lower the hit on the 4 noid? Im assuming because of the cost of the 4 noid?

When you guys say that the kit is adjustable do you mean that YOU can set it up for 200 -500hp shot or does it mean that once I have the setup I can adjust it between 200 and 500? Sorry for the dumb questions.

with nearly any nitrous setup, the jets determine the shot size. with a DP setup, its just that many more jets to change out. with the tools, you can change the jets. and the reason for a small shot being not recommended for a DP i believe is because of how small the jets would have to be. at those sizes, its hard to be as accurate. and its a waste of money for a small size shots(0-100) a regular setup would work fine

It's jet size.
For running small shots, the fuel pressure will need to be low to be able to use larger fuel jets; less chance of clogging. Even on a 200 shot with our fuel pressure (60+) the fuel pill will be .13 or a .14, that's Tee Tiny. Running fuel at 10 psi you use a .22 with the nitrous pill coming in at .26 . This is for each jet in an 8 jet system. Also jetting is what would be changed to increase the shot up to 500.
With smaller systems and a fuel regulator, you do have some play in the fine tuning without having to change jets; another plus either going with a regulator or a stand alone fuel system setup.

So could you lower the 4 noid to a 100 shot safely? I will end up doing what is best, but I do really like the 4 noid setup the most. I was thinking that starting off with a 100 shot and then gradualy moving up to a 200 shot would be better then just jumping straight into a 200. I could be wrong though? Is it hard to tune for nitrous?

You would 100% need a fuel regulator that low regardless of how many solenoids. For a 100 to 150 shot a single nozzle system or MAF is the better way to go. Much less fuss and easier to do.
Tuning would probably not be needed for a 100 shot or even a 150, but a dyno run to check A/F ratio is a must IMHO. Also remember plugs will need to be changed to a copper base plug a heat range cooler (TR6).

Running Tr6's already. Dyno is kinda out of the question (awd silverado ss), but I do have HP tuners. I could check my A/F ratio with the hp tuners couldn't I? I should probably mention that I will be running this on a ls2 402. Would it be risky going with the 4 niod system and jumping right into the 200 shot?
