i believe it fills just like nitrous, by pressure (like i said before please correct me if i am wrong) so you could possibly freeze the nitrous bottle and syphon it that way or you could make your own filling station using an nx2 pump (if you want to spend the $$$)

but like i said im not sure how well that would work

You can siphon propane into a nitrous bottle. However, you're only going fill partially or until the pressures equalize. Without a way to bleed off vapor on the nitrous bottle, siphon feeding will only work to a certain extent. It really needs to be pumped over.

And yes, a filling station will most likely NOT fill your nitrous bottle.

I own a propane company and have experimented with a nitrous/propane combo. We used a 10# nitrous bottle for the propane storage and used the liquid side. The system actually worked pretty well. 2 problems that we encountered were the control of output pressure on the propane. This could have been fixed with a bottle heater and a hobbs switch(although we never tried it). Second was the hanging of the soleniods. If propane is the route you want to go, use a filter. Remember that propane gets transfered from a refinery, to a storage, to a transport, to another storage, to a delivery truck, to the fill station. Thats alot of tanks and transferring with who knows what in each tank.

Thanks for chimming in with additional info. On the heater thing. Why I suggest using a NOS heater is the fact that they use 85* (I said 95* but that's aftermarket) electric thermastats, no need for mech transducer. It will keep bottle right around 160* and electro transducer fits right under heater. What do you think about using a nitrous filter for the propane?

I'm not sure what the industry standard is for propane filters. I would think that the nitrous filters at 140micron would be sufficeint. Just make sure you get all the particulates out of the fuel before it hits the noids and you should be good to go.
Not sure if you're using vapor or liquid, but the liquid has awesome cooling properties w/ a boiling point of -40 F.

So who has a fitting for a 1lb tank 'coleman tank for camping' to go to AN line
I know you can get these for under $3 Is there any power difference from liqiud to gas. The only reason i would go through the trouble would be to run the gas so i wouldnt have to worry about a back fire.

so i ordered a fitting from ace hardware that conects to a throw away cylinder but the orfice is so smal in it that i dont think it would supply enough fuel to the engine. They had a connector that hooks to larger cylinders too but the hole is so small that i think it will just go lean. Do you have to drill them out or what. i hooked a guage up to it and it read 140psi but it just dosent look like enough propane is coming out.

Easy answer for this. Check what size jet you want with a numbered drill bit and see if your adapter fitting orifice is bigger. If it is not, then drilling is in order.

What is the jetting chart it has been removed?

Where can I find an adapter for the 1lb propane bottles to -AN or for a regular propane bottle to -AN?

A local hardware store, or local propane company should have the fitting. You're looking for a POL tank adapter. You can get them as POL to male 1/4pipe thread. That will get you to your AN.

4.25# tank

I think I will be using this on my Chevelle project. Single stage w/ propane + gas. See what we can do on a stock block cam only.

I'm not sure about all the shot sizes, but i had a 150 on my propane/n20 side.

i had a 63 n20 and a 46 fuel (propane). That should give a good starting point, but the guy that has my old kit had to richen it up a little bit more (i believe).
Once again that was liquid form with no bottle heater to regulate pressure.

I also had some info on running the bottle right side up (gas form) for a 150 shot, but i NEVER TRIED these jets. For a DUAL nozzle setup use 52 nitrous jets and 40 propane jets. These jet sizes came from a company that sells propane kits.

Why is this propane + n2o thing so mystical for gas engines? The diesel guys use it all day.

I don't understand why the charts were deleted, but the general consensus on the viper forums is to start with equal jets on the n20 and propane then go leaner from there.

What bottle warmer to use for propane tank? Do you need one if you run the bottle upside down which is better up or down?

What solenoid do I use for the propane, will any fuel solenoid work?
