I see no BIG power advantage using this type of system? FAST intake with a direct port nitrous system makes more sense to me.

A Victor Jr. should easily out flow a FAST 90. Plus the power band of this thing is 3500-8500. It's more suited for a track application but could easily be used on the street, esspeacially with a power adder.

Why not use a high rpm aftermarket sheet metal intake in place of the Edelbrock.

OK,
After working on the car until 2am on Friday night I loaded it up and headed to use the dyno at ART in Austin about 7 am the next morning. We had a total of cars to tune. It was really a toss up if this one would get done or not. However we did not get all 4 cars tuned but we did get 1 supercharged and one directport car tuned. We did get to tune on this one but did not have the time I would have liked to spend on it.It took a while to work out some bugs in the system to get it to spray.

Moe Bailey is who I work side by side with on all the tunning. He does all the computer side. I have used Moe for years now and he is top notch. My part comes in on the nitrous side of things.Where Moe and I work very well together. And of course Having Ricky a phone call away to help me problem shoot is very helpful.LOL

According to Moe the people that tuned it for the last owner had changed some tables he was not happy with. He said we need to retune this car by down loading a stock tune in it and starting over. However we did not have a stock tune handy or the time.WE did get it partially tuned but we both feel there is more in the car.

Here is the run though on the car.
Its a stock displacement bottom end with Diamond pistons.T REx Cam with LS6 heads that someone HOME ported with out larger valves or flow numbers.

The rear is a 12 bolt with 410. The tranny is a TCI turbo 400 with a 4000 Yank Converter.

The previous owner said the car put down 387 HP on the Dyno.

This car is the worst car for this intake in my opinion. Again this intake is for a stroked motor with good flowing heads that need more flow up in the higher RPMs.

WE started with 365 HP /329 TQ
Our best Motor pull was 390 HP and 384 TQ Air fuel was 12.3
On a 200 Shot it put down 595 HP 542 Torque,Air fuel was 11.5

MY openion would be that the car still needs major NA tunning.I think the heads are killing it.I also think this is way to much intake for a 346 bottom end with out High flowing heads. I would have liked to spend more time on the dyno but we did not have enough time and the car had blown the EGR tube off the header pipe. My ghetto rigging fix did not hold up long.LOL

To sum it up. The intake works great. It did exactly what I expected. Its a shame the car I had to use was not best suited for this intake.
The inatke will be a great set up for someone that has the right combo and needs the flow. For the guys with a mild head and cam set up this is not the intake for you.Go with the fast.

I appreciate everyones kind words and interest during this build. We had tons of time in development.
Thanks
Dave

We do not have any plans of further testing...

The intake is for one purpose. To give the guys that are going to these setups a easy way to do it with out hacking up there car and investing many hours in product ftment and gathering.

You're killin' me Macon, haha. Just put the keyboard down and step away from the computer, lol. I know what you mean though.....

Congrats on the car Dave, it's good to see you got what you did out of it after Ricky told all about the issues you were having with the car. Now get some better heads on it and get the tune a little more refined and go run a 9....

Brad- Good to see you finally made it on here.

Ok I took this car to the track this weekend. I personally have not drove down the track in atleast two years. I had a blast but My driving skills have gotton alittle rusty.
The car ran a 10.16 at 132.98mph. The 60 foot was 1.4s
I know the car could have went faster. I made no changes to the car other than the intake and nitrous set up. The previous owner was spraying a 250 shot and running 10.20s . I was only spraying 200.
Its time to start playing with this car and making some changes. I am happy with the starting point.

Here is a pic of the car.
