something 2 think about.... NOTHING TO DO WITH NITROUS ok here we go and remember this has nothing to do with nitrous.
You and 2 freinds when to a nitrous race and are headed home, and desie to stop for the night at a hotel. we will call it the nitrous inn... haha
it cost 30.00 for the night, so you and each of your buds kick in 10.00.
Go the room the nitrous presidental suite. And the counter guy remembers is only 25.00 for the night so he gives the bell hop 5.00 to take back to you and your buddys...
On the way the bell hop is thinking 5.00 3 people this is not going to work, so he keeps 2.00 for himself ( after all you forgot to tip him
) and gives yall each 1.00.
So now yall have paid 9.00 each.
So lets recap yall paid 9.00 ea 9.00x 3 = 27.00
Bell hop kept 2.00 = 2.00
total of 29.00
hmmmm didn't we start with 30.00 what happened to the other dollar...

The room cost each $8.33, then they were reimburst $1.00 each for a total of
$27.99, then add the bell hops $2.00 and wolola and you have $29.99 or $30.00. The missing penny is actually diveded between each room cost or $8 and 1/3rd of a dollar for each guy. Makes sense to me.

Where the joke is totally throwing you guys is counting the three dollars "back".... which is actually a negative 1 dollar each
Each paid 10 dollars then got 1 dollar each back for a total of 27 dollars. Bell hop kept $2 and the room was $25....
i didnt go to college so i wouldnt have to think on **** like this.. 
$30.00 for a room huh??? wonder if this place is along the 2006 power tour route..

What you you trying to do is mathmatitly impossible! You can't divide a amount then subtract a number then multiple a number by the same and expect the same number to come up. This is a old bar joke but very clever. If I have to explain let me know.
Here is my reasoning.
3 people paid $10 each.
Room was actually $25.
Bell hop gave you back $3 total
Bellhop kept $2.
So every bud ended up paying $9, which accounted for the $25 room and the bellhops $2 tip.
9*3=25+2=27
The $30 is no longer valid after the bellhop gave the $3 back. The total price would be $27, which is then the price of the room + tip.
Simple =)

The problem is the multiplication if you just add every thing up its fine every one didnt pay 27 for the room they paid 25 got 3 back and tiped the bell hop 2, 25+3+2= 30. But i would have let him keep all five i mean a 30 dollar a night hotel me cant be making much money.
