Default Is this a fair price (Labor)

To install a maf plate kit, run all my wires and hoses, rig all my switches, and put a fuel pump in. Before I tell you how much a guy wants to charge me, can you guys esteemate what it would cost?

It all depends how clean you want the install (and if there is any fabrication involved for a purge and stuff like that) and if he drops the tank to replace the fuel pump. In all honesty, if I was doing installs (not that I do), I think I would charge $4-500 for a super clean install including and intank pump with a hotwire kit. Basic install with and inline pump or intank trap door method, I imagine that $250-350 would be reasonable. Again, this is just guessing.

Sounds good. He and I both agree that the trap door= GAY. Should be a pretty clean install for the n2o, he said a solid 400 bucks, maybe a bit more... Seems like hes right on the money.

That is a good price. An install usually takes me, believe it or not, anywhere from 8-24 hrs to get everything done right. Sure it can be done faster, I'm sure someone out there installed a kit in 15min. But 8 hrs minimum for most efi cars.

I'd say 250-500 is a fair deal depending on the level of work that has to go into it, show installs of course deserve to be paid for the effort that goes into them.. i could see paying 600 for a great install

That is a fair price. We charged 500 for a complete install with all the accessories. For what all we did I feel we were to cheap. I have seen shops charge 1000 for the work we do.

Why would you even say this? Evidently you know nothing by the questions you have been posting in the N2O section. So how did you come up with this great conclusion?

Just pray that your pump never fails otherwise you will be redropping your rear and tank again. I'm sorry, your mechanic will becuase you don't have a clue. No offense

Trap door is the only way to go on an F-Bod....Done properly it can be a clean job as well, and look like it was meant to be that way from the general....

That being said, a clean N2O system install and fuel pump for 400-500 bucks is EXTREMELY cheap....I wouldnt do it for less than 1000...but thats just me.

When I said gay, maybe that wasnt a proper choice of words. I ment to say that I wouldnt think about cutting up my unibody for something that I could just put a little more work into and do it the right way. But if there is a proper argument than 'its the only way to go' I would listen.

I agree with Vinny on the time line, a minimum of 8 hrs for EFI cars with accessories. I also agree with Ricky that $500 would probably be a minimum charge for the install without the pump. So if he's willing to do it for $400 and you trust his work, I would say go for it. Let us know how it turns out, and if you have any more questions feel free to email or pm me.

If the work is good, that price is awesome. I baseline at least 8 hours for our n2o installations. Throw in another $350 to install a fuel pump and hardwire kit.

I'd charge around $500 just for the basic nitrous install.I could do completely hidden but that will cost extra. I've quoted $1,800 just for an install on a Viper and charged $1,500 just for the install on a Silverado.

We don't cut any corners(solder, shrink wrap, oem quality wire and loom) and if it shouldn't be seen it's put out of the way properly. I have done nitrous installs for street racers to show cars. Every car and owner requires something a little different.

If you ever attempt a fuel pump install on an F-body, you will understand my "only way to go" statement.
