Default 2 bottles in parallel on single stage?

What would be the result of having two bottles opened in parallel on a single shot...

You'll have more nitrous on hand, less fill ups, more consistant runs. The pressure evens out between bottles, so no worry (doesn't double). I am running this way with dual 15lb'ers.

I figured it was simply more volume. Thanks.

hey robert wouldn't this make the solenoid see about 2000 psi if both bottles were at 1000psi? just curious cause i run 2 bottles and always switch the line from bottle to bottle once one emptys.

no, in parallel, just like electricity, the 'pressure (or voltage_) does not double, just the flow capability (or amperage in electrical circuits) doubles.

The bottles are in 'series' so 1000 psi per bottle is still 1000 psi. The only plus will be
you will not drop pressure as quick.

That's where it gets interesting, are the bottles parallel or series? I know the
end result is the same. I'm just bored.

No they are in parallel. If O are the bottles.

Series would be:

O----O-----engine

Parallel is:
O------
******l----engine
O------

Series would be like in a Nitrogen Push situation

But the higher pressure will equalize to the lower bottle. So that's
why i'm saying the end result is the same.

Unless using a regulator on a nitrogen push system

The other thing you can do is use one heater to bring both bottles up to pressure. I am trying this, but to cold right now, if it takes to long I'll just add another heater. The down side for some may be the additional weight, like for me dual 15lb'ers, but I will just throw in bigger jets to make up for the wieght, and better traction.

To run with both bottles open you need to have a heater element on both bottles. You can run both elements off one pressurre swith though. Other wise you need to leave one bottle closed while you use the other one..

now what about each bottle fighting with each other when you engage the system. i've talked with people that have done this and have had consistency issues because of the two bottles.

Shouldnt be any consistancy issues. If anything it should be more consistant since the pressure drop will be half of what it would be.

i'm also doing this to keep the pressure more constant, but with two 10 pound bottles with AN-4 lines going to a Y that turns into an AN-6.

This is why if you have both bottles open you need a heater on both.

won't you also get only half the benefit of the heater with it only on one?

I run two bottles tied together. When i put my heaters on, I heat 1 or both. But i always make sure whatever combinatiom i use has been heated. The one thing for sure with both heated you don't get a rapid pressure drop.
