NX Ricky or Jeremy Help please. Fuse sizes?
I am getting my NX single nozzle wet system set up on my 02 Z06. From the notes I have John @ NX and soneone else but I don't remember who. I have given me conflicting information and want to make sure I do this right. Please give me the fuse sizes I should use for the following.
Item amperage draw fuse size
1. Purge #15600 _____________ ________
2. Bottle opener _____________ ________
3. Fire & Ice ____________ ________
(The instructions show no fuse & no relay. John told me 14-15 amp draw use 25-20 amp fuse and use a 30 amp relay.
Also I have a wiring diagram I would like to fax to you Monday if you would please take a look at it for me and see if I have any mistakes and if you have any suggestions. I have an FJO wideband and it looks to me that NX and FJO instructions differ in how the relay is wired.
Is 1-940-767-7697 the correct fax # for you?
Thanks, Terry

15600 - start at a 10amp.
Bottle opener - 10amp
fire and Ice - need to check..
Purge valve pulls 8 amps but at the moment of opening will spike. All electrical devices have a spike for a few mill-seconds.
Now if the 10 amp fuse blow or pop then check the wiring is up to snuff, if so go to a 15 amp fuse.
? if you are using a switch panel and that panel is pulling power from your fuse box off an ign. source it is already fuse. Why are you setting this up with so many fuses.?
Fax the diagram on in on Monday we will take a look at.. .OR email it to me.

Ricky:
Thanks for the quick reply. Are the amperages you gave the fuse size you are saying to use. (My post did not read the way I put it in. I asked for the amp draw for each item so I can select the proper guage wire based on the amperage and the length of each wire.. And beside that I asked for the fuse size to use.)
I am making up a switch panel for the ashtray area. Yes, all power except the main power to the relay will come from an ignition switched source. The reason for all the fuses is to be safe but more importantly to me if I blow a fuse I know where to look for the problem. If I relied on the car's fuse or had a master fuse it would be harder to find the problem.
I will fax the diagram to you Monday. Hopefully it will make more sense when you see it or you will tell me i'm nuts??

Terry, The amp draw for the fire and ice is 8amps, the bottle opener is 3amps, purge is 8 amps. these numbers are the runnings or on amps, not the turning on spikes that happen.
Nice drawing you sent in with just a mod here and there, take a look at this picture. Let me know if all is well..

Terry, on the Z06 there is an acc wiring harness (not used) hanging under dash on pass side. It has a constant volt orange wire, a ground and a yellow 10 amp fused switched ign wire. the fuse can be found under fuse box behind kick panel on pass side, it's number 11, and I put a red dot on it so I can find it easy. This sw 12v source can power all of your switches if you go through relays, as combined amp draw is only milla amps to activate relays. I have eight things on this sw 12v and no problemos, but I do run relays on everything. Also, when you get your set-up done and get some times, post up in the stickie above, as vette n2o list has been added and only 2 submissions so far. Have fun, you'll love the giggle gas, and with a Z06 underneath, a hard combo to beat.

Thanks guys!
Ricky: I wish my drawing was as neat as yours, but I hope mine was ok to read. I will compare your schematic to mine and fax you a new one tomorrow.
Robert: Thanks for letting me know which fuse is for the yellow wire. I have my V1 on that wire now. Do you know about this? I think I was told there is an un used fuse slot in the pass foot well. If it is switched I might put a fuse tap there for another power source. But I'm not sure how many amps it is good for. I like your relay idea but I'm trying to keep it as un cluttered as can I I'm not sure where I can put more relays where they would be out of sight and still easy to get to.

Yea, there are a couple unused fuses open, and I did what you said, a fuse tap. I use it to power my lm1 and my lap top, and fused at 15 amps. It's labeled on the lid to the fuse block, I believe as open or spare, but easy to find. I have my 7 relays in the batt area, on the one open end. All labeled and actually looks factory once the wiring is loomed.

Terry yours was perfect to read, I just lay in out in color that helps me describe what I am typing about. lol I can confuse myself and people if I try to type how to wire something. The drawing was extremly close to what was needed. I can see how it can be confusing one mfg, saying the 85 pin is ground and another saying its the 86. I reality both are correct unless the relay you are using has a diode in it. I only laid out the system side of things. I gave you a call but I guess it was to late in the day, anyway I look forward to seeing the drawing..
As always in wiring just keep the layout simple and clean, and if a problem pops up its easy to find...
