Effective immediately, we are going to be following a different plan specifically for the nitrous forum. This is due to the never-ending drama, arguments, babysitting, bashing, cussing, spitting, and nut kicking.
We are going to let you guys do what you want, within reason. This applies to all regular members and sponsors here.
1. If you feel like challenging a competitor's claims, feel free to do so. This must be done professionally, without personal attacks or name calling.
2. Sponsors can decide if they wish to portray themselves as professional, immature, hostile, ignorant, sinister, or any combination of the above. Ultimately, our members will decide if they like your attitude and service, and this will be based on your behavior within this forum most likely.
3. Be warned that if you instigate something here, LS1TECH Admin will not be inclined to rescue you. In most cases, we might lock the thread or simply delete it. We do not wish to play the babysitter role in this forum any longer. You all are adults, and should be able to decide how and when to react to something. See number 2 above. Please do not email us or complain to us if your feelings get hurt, or your skin isn't thick enough.
4. We will no longer allow moderators to represent nitrous sponsors in this forum. There are too many complaints from other members and sponsors, and we have seen judgements made with bias and favoritism. Any moderators must decide if they wish to remain a staff member or become a sponsor representative (at the discretion of the sponsors, of course). Its one or the other, but not both. We tried this out, and it isn't working.
Thanks, and enjoy your potentially hostile new policy

I for one thought it made alot more sense not to post in each other's threads, most other forums enforce that. Regardless we will keep posting our own threads and have no interest in posting in any other vendor's threads.. We don't need to do that.

So, that my friends is the reason the site owners came up with the new rules, posted above. Lets see how this plays out..

I can't say that I liked the rules, but then again Tony and the other guys shouldn't have to babysit the nitrous section either. Way to go Tony for releasing the dogs of war, lol. This should be interesting, haha.
Not a problem here. I took Nitro Dave out of my sig a few days ago. I never benifited him much anyways.
My #1 priority here has always been about enlightement of the facts concerning nitrous use and products as well as learning. I have been in this position for several years and this last year things in this forum have changed drastically. I will no longer bite my tongue when I have a question to ask because I think someone might be offended. And that applies to anyone and everyone. And I would expect nothing less of me in return from the users here as well. I certainly dont mind some in depth discussion and debate in an attempt to come to a conclusion that may be of some use to a member.
But please dont think this forum will be a complete "free for all". Rediculous posts will still be locked or deleted. And outright bashing will be locked or deleted.

My opinion is the last rule is ridiculous. Why penalise the mod/sponsor only? This makes no sense? you changed the rules to a free for all, but put your thumb down on the most active and dedicated guys. Maybe Al is cool with this, but I must state very heavly that I am not. If two guys can't get along, and this is where most of the issues come from, that is where the thumb should be going. I see this move as making matters worse, you are causing a definate line to be drawn in the sand. I am making no choice this minute, as I just got online today, however, the way I feel right now is to throw the towel in on the whole mess, and move my base of operations to another site. I may regret this action, as ls1tech has been my fav site, so I will wait a bit to make a choice. Tony, I strongly hope you would reconsider, as I want to keep both, and Al say's he gave sponsor rep already anyway.

I think Robert has been extremely fair, non biased, admits he uses other stuff in some situations and praises the products equally. I have seen zero conflict.. he's a very helpful person on this forum, and you're the one who initially said it was no problem at all. A thread and poll was started by robert asking if anyone felt it was a conflict and it was LARGELY in favor of keep doing what you're doin it's great and no conflict of interest. I don't know of any time he has even excersied his mod rights having to do with any nitrous discussion that included ND, etc... just my .02

When I was first learning about the squeeze, Robert helped me out tons, he even PM'ed me a few times showing me different products from different vendors that may suit my needs, and never pushed his stuff TOO hard....

Robert, the Admins have discussed this. Some people have a problem with you representing a sponsor and being a moderator in the same forum that you solicit in. You can continue to help out all you wish, whether that be as a member, moderator, or sponsor. We aren't saying you have to leave, we are saying that we feel that this is a conflict of interest and that we want the conflict removed. Some members and other sponsors view your dual role as an unfair advantage, and we have to agree. Whether you abuse your powers here or not, we wish this to be a widespread rule in this particular forum, due to all the issues we have had in here.
Scott, this isn't about Robert's performance in this forum. Its about a site policy that was created because of the bs that you and the other sponsors have stirred up. Maybe if you guys had handled things more maturely in this forum, we wouldn't have had to create such drastic "agreements" or "policies".

When we decide something like this, it's after a great deal of thought and discussion. This is not a rash decision; this forum has been on our watchlist for easily six months. the concept of fair play has gotten lost in here.
This is not negotiable at all, we already issued warnings and sent pms/emails to attempt to address the dynamics in here.

Robert I dont think it would be too big a deal. You would still post as much as you always do. But it would either be in the capacity of a ND rep or as you always have as a mod. But not both. Your a valuable person here and very productive. It would be a shame if you moved on due to this. I dont really think it needs to come to that.
I think it's a perfect solution. Let the nitrous guys decide to either play it safe with a reasonable shot of support/sales or let them jet up and take a chance on blowing a hole in number 7. lol
Perfect...

Tony and John own the site - and are thus admins.
I am the website administrator - and thus can be anything I want
Back on topic.. Its incredibly difficult for most folks to be passionate about something, and remain impartial at the same time. Its not a failing, that's human nature. That's fine if you're a sponsor, because you're expected to promote your product if you wish to sell it. However, also being a moderator causes a HUGE conflict of interests -- and we can no longer allow it, because it is obviously not working.
Robert, in your case it should be a simple choice. You learned a LOT from the folks in this forum in the past year, its pretty clear from reading back over your posts. You went from a pretty normal nitrous guy, to a really knowledgable level pretty quickly. That's what this site is all about, and I'm sure you'll agree its best when everyone can converse freely about product, concepts, theory, tech, etc. We need moderators who are free to do their duties, without being encumbered with the moral dilemma of doing what's best for the site vs. what's best for their job. You need to choose which is best for you -- helping out LS1Tech as a moderator, or helping out Nitrous Direct as a sponsor. By being one or the other, you get to focus 100% instead of trying to play a balancing act. It should make things easier on you as well.
