yep..check em. Everyonce in a while youll get one thats closed. Sometimes for the Tr6's if im running a small shot I will eyeball them..lol...just to ensure they arent closed.

I also check them all .055 is what I'm at.

Doh .035 is what I'm at guess my finger got lazy. I had them at 28 but regapped at the dyno last time there. I had a miss ended up being a crappy wire.

WERD. Most people with tr6's gap them from .032-.040 since most tr6 users are running FI or N20. If you are doing either, close in that gap.

I don't know why you guys don't run your gaps closer to .040. The smaller the gap the easier it is for the spark to jump the electrode. As cylinder pressure increases it becomes even tougher, and with the LS1's crappy COP ignition system it's imperative to keep your plugs gapped close. You could even run as close as .025 on the big HP stuff to make it that much more reliable and consistant.

I totaly agree someone comes into the Nitrous Forum , I'm guessing they
are spraying and need to adjust the GAP as needed espically TR6s

I havent ever had to run the gaps closer than .028 yet up to about 875 rwhp.

Guys...as Ben said...gap is a function of cylinder pressure and the amount of mass in the cylinder prior to spark. The more of that stuff you have the more power youll make. A 400 hp H&C car with 11 to 1 compression could run .045-.55 gap. Same car with a 150 shot will probably want a .032-.038. And a 300 shot maybe like .025-.030.

The only negative effect from too small a gap I have noticed was a slightly rougher idle at times.

Speaking of wires, we saw a 20RWHP loss using Taylor wires when compared to MSD's on Mr. Powells car. Very odd, but it checked out using the ABA method.

All Tr6's Are Pre-gapped At .030.. I Always Leave Install Them The Way Them Come I Just Take A Look To See If It Is Completely Closed Or Not.. But Have Never Ran Into A Closed Plug That Is Why They Have The Protective Cardboard Piece At The Bottom.. Also For Nitrous You Might Want To Try The Iridiums... Work Awesome And Last Longer.. A Little Pricey Though..

I have bought many sets of NGK TR6 plugs...all were right round .038, never as close at .030...I gap mine at ,.035 for 150-200 shot.
