Doing things yourself is the best way to learn because you find out what works and what not to do.

Like Dean stated, there are 1000's of solenoids out there and they normally don't fail for no reason. Your probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than to have a solenoid just fail for no reason. I would say that 98% of the time a solenoid issue is caused by either installation error or user error.

So what ended up being the reason for the solenoid to not work and then start working again?

If you are using the FJO mini-progressive controller or the Maximizer II, you might want to put it somewhere inside the car so that you can plug your laptop into it. This just makes it very easy to make adjustments to the program on the fly while you're inside the car.

As long as you have Windows 98 or newer you will be fine. The program doesn't take up much memory so that shouldn't be a problem either.
