Default nozzle shootout results

thread where it all got started.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...4&page=1&pp=20

webpage showing results. so far, i only have peak numbers up. as the days go by, i'll start making dynosheets, getting them scanned and linked onto that page. i'm looking at about 80+ dynosheets in trying to get one nozzle versus another one done. be patient. 9 nozzles, two runs each, you do the math.

Is there any other difference in between the NX Shark and NX SHO besides the opening size? Does it have a better atomization or something? They look so alike.

well, ricky or jeremy will have to explain it better. pics are up of them. the shark is a .093 orifice. the SHO is .116 orifice.

Yeah I remember that thread. My 150 gets me 130 gain at the wheels and my AFR is from 12.8 to 11.1, nice and rich, although it gives me like 200 lbs of extra torque. I may try a SHO nozzle out. Im on a 62/33 jetting

YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!

Excellent documentation so far, I can't wait to see the graphs either.
I am also very surprised to see such a big difference in nozzles. I thought they would be much closer.
I'll digest this info some more tomorrow.

Yes!
Thanks for the test.
Great to see real world numbers in a unbiased consumer test on a stock engine.

Cheers

here's some food for thought. i made to printouts. this one is the nytrex vs predator using .062/.033 jets. now, this is what pisses me off about dynojet. i can guarantee i started the runs at 2000 rpms (42mph), nitrous came on at 3000 rpms and shut off at 6000 rpms. when you view the run in engine speed (rpms) you don't get to see it all if the program disagrees. now, if you view it in either time or speed (mph) you can see it all.

RPMS

TIME

MPH

yeah...thats usually in a bigger stalled auto. Your gonna have to use whatever is the most consistant to make any good comparisons.

But already we see that the general shape, ramp time, and overall power are very very similair between those two nozzles.

Great work!

what you don't see in the rpms graph, really made no difference in the results. what you can see in mph and time is some of the inital fluctuations in a/f ratio.

Here's my dinky contribution.
MSO sucks so I have no way of doing a "nozzle vs HP / Torque vs oz. used" graph. Maybe matlab can do it. For some reason I wanna see that pictorially...

Time for bed.

Thanks again for your hard work!

Differences are just a couple.
1ST. the nitrous hole is a little larger. .116 drill bit, so its really .116+
2nd. the nitrous fitting is now a plate style fitting. Much stronger and has a larger i.d. hole then the normal nozzle fitting.
