Default 400RWHP tired of getting beat by nitrous.

I have an 02 SS with the following mods......

Patriot stage 2 heads
longtube hooker super comp headers w/y-pipe
3 in. flowmaster exhaust
.535 lift comp cam
spec stage 3 clutch and flywheel
cold air induction kit
3.73 gears.

400 dynoed rwhp.

Now, my problem is i'm tired of getting beat by weedeaters with the push of a button. I've decided to get nitrouss professionally installed. I'm scared of damaging my engine, is there a professional installler that will guarantee no damage to the engine? And what kind of setup should I be looking into? Any help would be appreciated!!

there is never any guarantee's with no2. I would go wet, and install it your self save some cash. just do your research and you should be fine.

just run a 75-100 shot wet with a stand-alone fuel system and put C-16 in it........keep the a/f ratio nice and fat and you should be just below 500rwhp and over 500rwtq. That should give you some "insurance" on the road and very safe. All you need is a professional tuner.

You will not find anybody in their right mind that will guarantee you that nothing will happen and if it does they will fix it.

I once read a great quote off of this forum...."if you can't pay don't spray"

Good luck!

With a wet system, upgraded fuel pump, and safe tune, you should be fine spraying a 100-125 shot.

If you really want the safest set-up, then dry would be the answer, without a shadow of doubt.
Remember, if you want to play, and can't pay, don't spray. Just the full quote for the above quote.

Get a good fuel pump, wet system NX Gemini . A cam with a bigger lift so those Patriot heads can flow.

All tho Dry is a good choice in the hands of an Experienced Person. I would never Recomend it to someone not looking for promblems. I allways say wetter is better.

I'm going to agree with Robert on this. And recommend a dry shot.

Some more cam lift for those Patriot heads would be nice also..............

Although I prefer wet kits, I tend to think a dry kit is a bit safer, so I would say get yourself a nice dry kit from one of the sponsors. Make sure to also get all the safety items (window switch, fuel pressure safety switch, plugs, etc...) and just be smart about it, and you should have no problems.

You will never find an installer tat will guarantee no damage to the motor because for the most part, nitrous accidents are not due to the install, but to the stupidity of the users. For example: not using the right plugs, too much timing, too rich/lean a/f ratio, spraying too early, etc. Educate yourself and you'll be good to go

Properly done with a quality system nitrous can be just as safe as any other mod. THe key is using a quality product backed with the technical support that will lead you in a safe and correct way.
Let me know if I can help with any of your questions. Feel free to pm me.
Thanks
Dave

You can install it your self and after you do you will wonder why you were even worried about it. I would get a new fuel pump for a wet shot new injectors as well if your going to do a dry kit and as always a window switch with all that there is still no guarantee but i would be willing to bet on it.

I read for about three months and then decided to go for it. Don't go into it blind though. I spent about $1200.00 to get the kit and all of the safety items (window switch, fuel pressure safety switch (redundant with the Zex unti), wide open throttle switch (included with Zex), purge, automatic bottle warmer with pressure shut off, automatic bottle opener, etc), and installed everything myself. It was a big job and more money than I had intended, but I feel as comfortable as possible about spraying it for the first time (hopefully this weekend). Do your research and don't skimp and you should be fine.

Good luck!

damn cry babies. i'm tired of getting smoked by nitrous, but i'm scard to use it. dude...nitrous is a power added just the same as a turbo or blower,it only comes in a bottle and you use it when you need it. i have never had a problem ever with my t.n.t kit,if used proper you will have many miles of fun. if used wrong you will lose the motor(like my bud did two weeks ago). get a system(and retard box) and go smoke someone.i have a t.n.t kit motor i make 463hp 414tq(stang dyno) on a 150 shot i got 595hp 655tq on the same dyno and my bottle temp was only 850ish psi. i was below what they say i should be at(950psi) goodluck to ya bro........you do know the crybaby thing was a joke right?
