Default Harness relay has too many wires..........WTF???

So I was wiring all the wires to my bottle heater and I'm using the provided instructions. On the diagram it shows all the wires coming from the relay (Red, Green, Black, White). So as I'm wiring all the wires and I'm just about finished, I notice that there is this fifth wire............a blue wire.

So I look back into the diagram and check the entire instructions and there is no mention of any blue wire.

At this point I'm thinking "oh ****, I accidentilly wired the nitrous relay! So I get the instruction manuel for the nitrous kit and check all the diagrams. Well, to my surprise there is no blue wire. The relay in the diagram is just the same as the diagram in the bottle heater instruction manuel.

So at this point I'm puzzled. I go to the box where the nitrous kit is stored and look at that relay. Sure as **** there is NO blue wire. However, it had all the wires the other relay had except the fifth blue wire. The relay for the heater is the only relay with a blue wire.

So here I am.........don't know what the **** happened and now I have this loose blue wire dangling from my relay. And I don't even know if I wired the correct relay.

Can anyone help me out on this one??????

I think those relays have a terminal in the middle (your blue wire) for NC (normally closed). basically this wire will be "switched on" when the relay is not activated (all the time except when the relay is energized). When it is activated, the blue wire will switch off and your actual working wire will switch on (the heater wire would turn on).

Im pretty sure in your case the blue wire is an extra one that does not need to be hooked up

Just take the blue wire and rip it out of the socket. Needed mostly for transbrake cars.

Do you guys have an easy way to pull it out other than just yanking it out? Otherwise, I'm just gonna pull on it till it comes out!

Yeah........that's what I did! I figured there would be a "proper" way to do it! I guess I found it.

When I installed my racetronix fuel pump, the kit came with a paper clip to detach one of the wires. I figured the blue wire may have a similar type thing going on. Either way its out, I just like things done correct.

a small screwdriver, or pic will push in the backside of the terminal and it will slide out.

Or the "pull" works good too.

The correct way to remove it is:
If you look closely in the end of the terminal that goes on the relay there will be a small rectangular notch inside in the plastic. Take a very small screwdriver that will just barely fit in the slot. Push it in the slot and it will push a little tab on the terminal down and the wire with terminal will pull right out. If you want to you can save it and re use it if you ever need to.
