few nitrous questions

few nitrous questions sorry if im wrong to post here but ive been looking for some quick help lately and it seems that not too many people can help. ive been to thirdgen.org but they really didnt give the help i was looking for so i thought id come here.
first off i have an 89 305tbi with 52k miles with a 700r4 only things done to it are 2.5" catback, open element, and ac delco rapid fire plugs which are brand new.
i was looking to buy the NOS #05153 kit for my car and hooking it all up soon. i was wondering what the biggest shot i could do with the stock fuel pump was. also i was wondering at what rpm i can start to spray at because car can only push to 5krpms then its all down hill. my last question is what kind of power numbers should i be looking at here?

Dont take this the wrong way but that car is probably putting down like 160rwhp.
i would only spray max a 100 shot with the stock fuel. start spraying at no less then 3k. Hope that helps ive done a kit on a 305 tuned port and we only sprayed 100. It pulled really nice, he stoped spraying at 5500 rpm. Good luck.

thanks for the help it actually sounds good. and i know my car is mad slow thats why i want to go the nitrous root.
how much faster do you think a 100 shot would put me? and am i going to need colder spark plugs or retard some timing? once again thanks

well on an otherwise stick 305. relatively. you would see a huge increse in times on a 125 shot. just play it safe. pick yourself up a fpss and a window switch, and get yourself a set of tires if youd like. No reason not to do it man, keep us updated. and im sure any questions you have can be answered here, this is the best bunch of guys you will find anywhere. One thing i will tell you though is play it safe and take your time. even if you cant get to the comp. there are so many people, and sponsors you can call to point you in the right direction

ok well you guys have been really helpful and i appreciate it very much.
i want to run an a/f gauge off my stock O2 sensor and ive heard they are not very accurate and that it really wont help by the time it reads its too late is this true?
i want to see if i can push to a 150 shot not everytime but just to see if possible but ill be sure to be safe.

what causes a nitrous system to backfire? when i cut into my feed fuel line and put in the tee adapter do i do it up near the throttle body itself lines? by any chance does anyone know any nitrous fill places in CT and prices? once again thanks i love this site
backfires can be and hand full of causes.....to rich, lean, boggin out of the hole.....anything......I know I pay $3.0 a pound down here in NC....id ont know how much it is up there.......good luck with it....let us know how you run!!

will do you guys have been the most helpful and i should be getting the kit right about when i get back from vaca on thursday or friday id say. for sure ill let you know how it goes.
i just found who sells NGK plugs and can anyone tell me which ones i need and the gap ill need with a 125 wet shot? or can i keep my ac delco rapid fires? if not can i at least go to autolites because i heard the NGKs are crap when not spraying. should i remove some timing as well?
