Default ~A Few Nitrous Questions~

Ok now I have a few questions, I have a 01 WS6 (M6) with around 60k miles. I want to put on a wet kit on my car, but have a few concerns.

How hard is nitrous on a motor when using all the safety precautions (fpss, window switch, WOT, bottle warmer, purge) Keep in mind i wont be spraying constantly! (except at first ) it will only be occasionaly on the streets when having some fun and maybe every now and then at the track.

Also what is a good number to start with, I was thinking 100shot.

What is a good company to go with, I have had excelent luck with NX and will most likely go with them. But would like to know others experiences with other companies.

Now I need to know whether or not the direct port kit is worth the money? I dont mind saving up more to be safer. I want the kit to be hidden as much as possible, but not the most important thing.

Also i would like to know where i can order some tanks for a refilling station, i have a couple empty tanks in my garage, but have no idea where to get them filled. I always thought you have to have a license, but I'm not 100% sure about it. This isnt something i will buy right off the bat, but something to consider for the future.

Sorry about all the questions, and I appreicate all the help if any that I get.

Thanks again! Ryan

Well I just went through all the questions your asking and many many more.

From the research I have done and the input of many nitrous gurus on this site.........you can spray up to 150hp shot safely with all the safety equipment you have listed.

Now you need to get your kit from a reputable vendor so you can get good customer service when and if you need it. That is very important. It can really make or break your nitrous experience!

Your current setup and the amount you plan on spraying will depend on whether or not you will need bigger injectors (for a dry kit) or fuel pump (wet kit).

Post up your current mods and what your over all goal is for your setup! Do you want to spray a big shot or just a little. Do you want a nice fancy nitrous setup or just one to get the job done?

These questions will help me and others guide you to a good kit for your needs and help to advise you in what you'll need to run your kit as safely as possible.

Its basically stock....I want a car that can get around the streets and maybe every now and then on the 1/. I want to do FULL BOLT ONS from Heads to Exhaust, then eventually bulletproof the motor and drivetrain. I just want something that can be well hidden and can be used every now and then for a quick surprise in a street race.

I do alot of street racing for money... so i dont want a set up to be easily visible, around here they only know what they see...they are a bunch of rich mommy and daddy kids who gets their cars handed to them on a silver platter. So I take there money by BSing them. I'll let one guy win a race knowing completely that i can take him and then stomp all over the next guy and take his money

In that case you should seriously look into the "money maker". Here is a link to a thread that talks about the money maker! Use it to read up on the money maker and educate yourself a little. The money maker is about as good as it gets when you want a hidded nitrous system. The silinoids are built into the inside of the intake manifold. Now that is some sneaky ****!

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ht=money+maker

You can hide the lines with some time and patience and lots of people put the bottle in the fender well area. F-body guys can fill you in on that, or you can do a search on it.

IMO, direct port systems are the best ,and Dave makes some of the best. They are pricey, but I beleive you get what you pay for. I went with Dave's wet plate kit because I didn't have the money for a direct port system. I will get one one day. You can go really big with a direct port system. Not to mention that our intake manifolds weren't designed to flow nitrous and fuel and directly injecting the two completely eliminates the possibility of it pooling in the intake manifold.

If you plan on doing a full bolt on car with heads and cam you will need to upgrade your fuel system. Your current fuel system will not be up to the task of a full bolt on car and nitrous.

well for one...if your looking for a stealthy install, direct port is not the way to go. but definetly worth it if you can afford it. but if your only going to be spraying a 100 shot id go with either the NX plate system, or the single nozzle kit.

can you explain the difference between a direct port and a single/dual nozzel system, i mean i know the technical differences but is the direct port that much more safe when running all the safety equipment??

The only thing i dont like about the money maker system is that i wont be able to get to the solenoids very easily. Cant you send your solenoids back to NX and they will rebuild them for free once a year??

dont mean to steal this thread but i also have a few questions...
would i need to upgrade my fuel injectors for a 100 dry shot?
from what i have read the stock fuel pump should be ok, i know to get the window switch, regulator, purge, wot switch, etc.
the only thing im worried about is changing out the injectors, the most i plan on spraying is that 100 shot...

Your injectors should be OK for 100 but id change em just in case, as far as the main Q. I say stick with a plate or even a dry kit if only 100HP and spend the extra time and money hiding it. Directport is sweet but i wouldnt worry about it unless your gonna be doing a big shot (200 or more) Any smaller is not worth the moola IMO. As always change plugs, Use a window switch and FPSS and have fun man. On Vendors, i personally use HSW, they have great service, and prices. But in all reality pretty much any of the sponsors, and even a couple non sponsors have awesome kits, its just preference. Happy spraying. and Good luck

Both are safe.........given the safety equipment is used. But wet kits are known to hit harder.
